there were a nice trip in the morning, but the bus break down on the way to Hahndorf, driver David work hard, I really disappointed, I like to visit the Germany village, your company need refound some money for us.
We enjoyed our Barossa Valley trip very much. The bus driver gave insightful and interesting commentary and was humorous as well. The only downside was that the tour time changed from 9.30am departure to 9.15am and we weren't contacted by the tour company until 9.14am at which stage we were walking to the departure point. As a result we missed the tour bus but fortunately we were driven through Adelaide on a chase to catch the bus. Embarassingly the people on the bus gave us a round of applause when we finally boarded the bus.
The trip was great, left on time, driver (Gordon) was very good, informative and pleasant with good sense of humour. wineries were excellent bougyt some top vino and have already drank it all. Lunch was excellent very very tasty. All in alla day I shall remeber with great fondness.
Although not a wine drinker, and having embarked on many tours around the world, this tour was fantastic. I learned so much from our coach driver who was very knowledgeable on the history of the areas, people and various trivia that made the whole trip enjoyable.
Next time I am back in Adelaide, I look forward to enjoying another trip with Grayline.
Saw some interesting country. Guide/driver was informative. Couldn't get to Granite Island as it is being refurbished.
The trip is OK, but it will be very boring if you are not interested in wine.
There is not much things to do in Hahndorf. The bus sends you to there and you have 1 hour to do your shopping. However, the shops are very expensive. Like same Swarovski craft priced as $160 but only $95 in Sydney.
The trip was okay. The main highlight of it was the Kangaroo Fillet for lunch which was fantastic. It was really well cooked and tender. You don't get the strong smell of the kangaroo meat. The guide was friendly.
Wine tasting was too rushed : no crackers to make differation possible between wines. Luncheon was very nice. Visit to Hahndorf a bit short for so many lovely little shops. But thank you for the enjoyable day out.
Enjoyed the visit to the winery. The stop at the German bakery was insulting! We were ushered into a small area where on the tables, in our case there was ONE PLATE of pastries for 4 people to eat from and they had been chopped up into very little pieces,, even if they had cut each pastry in half it would at least have LOOKED better. Surely since it is a bakery it would NOT have cost a great deal to supply these, I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS STOP TO ANYONE. i am not a big eater
so was not expecting a meal at this stop but as a morning tea IN A BAKERY, they certainly could have supplied a little more than they did
and it would not have cost a great deal more. I had the feeling that they felt "it was good enough" since they probably would never see any of us again! NOT IMPRESSED!
The commentary by the bus driver was good and the bus comfortable.
Our driver/host Dave was a wealth of information and set the high standard for the day, had a wonderful day travelling through the Barossa, lunch was great, wine tasting fab. Hahndorf was great although would have loved to be there longer to really have a look around.
Our driver Gordon was excellent and very informative and knew lots of history and was not boring. We felt very safe with his driving , We had a very enjoyable day.
Barossa Valley is very nice to visit. Lunch was in a little dark room but gives you an opportunity to talk with others in the tour. Great drivers and Hahndorf is a lovely little place. Some people say its a lot like other towns though. Overall an enjoyable day.
Informed bus driver; gorgeous scenery on the way out to Barossa; nice lunch and good wine tasting. Hahndorf is ok, but it's bit of a tourist trap filled with "antique" and craft shops and endless cappuccino joints.
