Doing what: Columbia Icefield Tour from Jasper

A brilliant day out, got to see the sights, enjoy the glaciers and even experienced a snow storm whilst on top of the glaciers! Would highly recommend for all those who want to see a different side to the Rockies! Wrap up warm!

Doing what: Columbia Icefield Tour from Jasper

Four of us waited outside our hotel for the bus to pick us up on time. The bus was very comfortable with ample room. At Athabasca Falls we were allowed some time to explore the canyon and photograph the falls. We stopped when it was safe to view a bear feeding beside the road. We were delivered to the Icefields Centre and were given clear instructions on what time and where our next bus would be leaving from. It is a very busy place and we were treated well. Our next diver told us a lot about the icefields. Once at the icefields we had to board the Ice Explorer to take us onto the glacier itself. We had plenty of time to experience this wonder. Then it was back to the Icefields Center, where we had more time to visit the interpretive centre and eat lunch before boarding the bus to return to our hotel. We were lucky enough to see another bear so we stopped for more photos. The whole experience was well worth the money. Thank you to all those involved.

Well worth the views of Jasper, especially if you want to admire the mountains whilst in the clouds! Amazing views.

Doing what: Rocky Mountains Tour: Jasper to Banff

The Icefields Parkway must be one of the world's great drives! This tour offers a good selection of stops and adequate time at each, particularly the Columbia Icefield. The driver was very enthusiastic and approachable, and the bus was on time for the pickup. A great way for the traveler without a vehicle to experience this extraordinary area.

Loved everything about that trip but the only thing I didn't like was the really packed carts, but other then that it was awesome and I would do it again.

Doing what: Ride the Steel Rails

This trip is not just for the train enthusiasts but anyone who likes to travel through fantastic scenery in comfort. To see the Rockies from a seat in the "Dome car" has to be one of life's more memorable experiences. Money well spent.

My daughter, my daughter-in-law and myself thoroughly enjoyed our journey through the Yellowhead Pass to Dunster. Our hostess on the train was very friendly and informative and the observation car was excellent. The Dunster General Store was extraordinary and the drive back to Jasper was full of more wonderful scenery and commentary from our driver.

My wife and I really enjoyed our day on the Skeena railway - the organisation was spot on. There weren't very many passengers on the train on the day that we went so we were allowed to view the awesome landscape from the observation car - drinks on board too, what more could you ask for. The couriers were informative during the trip and pointed out the main points of interest. The driver who took us back to Jasper gave a geography lesson on the way home and we stopped off at the lovely Robson Park information centre. It was a great day and a welcome change to be able to sit back and let someone else do the driving. If you are thinking of taking the Rocky Mountaineer train I think this would be a good way to get a taster first.
