Really great tour. We spent the whole day in Petra and had a fantastic tour guide who told us a lot of history and information about local plants and was just an overall friendly guy to spend a day with. We declined the donkey ride at the beginning and the walk was not very far, so we felt like we made the right choice. We weren't able to pack a lunch, so had lunch at the Crowne Plaza restaurant in Petra not the cheapest option, but it was a buffet, so it was good value. We took an additional hike up one of the cliffs to see the view from above. It cost a bit extra, but was very much worth it.
The pick up and drop off was incredibly helpful and very flexible. We actually flew right into Amman, got picked up at the airport at 3am, drove straight to Petra and on the return, got dropped off at our hotel on the Dead Sea. The non-Amman pick up and drop off did cost extra, but not as much as hiring separate transport would have and the driver was fantastic driving so far at odd hours with us sleeping half the time.
Overall, with all the additional charges, it was not cheap, but considering this was the main highlight of our holiday and we had an incredible time there and everything went smoothly and easily, it was well worth it.
Great experience if you have only a couple of nights in Jordan. Staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
My driver/ guide Shadi picked me up at 9am from my hotel. Drove by the Citadel and theater on the way to Madaba, then Mount Nebo and the Dead sea. Shadi was a very good driver. Always felt safe. Really enjoyed my visit to Jordan. Thank you Shadi.
Once again my driver was Shadi. I was the only one on the tour and the only one visiting, nice for me I got great pictures. Had Jordan to myself. On the way to the first castle, we drove pass one of the refugee camps in Jordan. It was hugh, very interesting. Lots of security surrounding the camps. High recommend this tour. Bring water. About a 2 hour drive thru the desert. Air conditioned van. Thanks again Shadi.
As we were also going to Petra, the driver suggested that the visits be combined. Great idea otherwise we would have travelled over much of the same desert road two days in a row. Wadi Rum was terrific, and would love to see more of it sometime.
My very friendly driver picked me up at the hotel in Amman and drove the 3 hours to Wadi Musa/Petra. He organised my entry ticket and a guide and after I'd finished walking to Petra city and back, he was there to drive me back to Amman. All in all a very nice day where I didnt have to think about a thing.
This tour is fantastic and convenient if you are limited by time and would like to discover the capital city Amman, Petra and float in the Dead Sea.
I had a brilliant time. Shadi was my driver - he was kind, friendly and knowledgeable. He was a safe driver and the vehicle was maintained. Shadi chatted openly on a variety of topics and provided me with valuable insights into the Jordanian way of life.
I was impressed by the punctuality and professionalism of the company when replying to emails and meeting me at the airport.
If you are considering visiting Jordan - I highly recommend you do it!! The Jordanians are warm and welcoming people. I felt safe the entire time considering the bordering countries.
well worth doing if you have a few hours spare.
Unfortunately parts of Mount Nebo were closed off for renovations when i went so didnt get to see everything. was also told by the driver that if you come around sunrise or close to then you can see Jerusalem from the mountain
Doing what: Private Half Day Tour to Madaba and Mount Nebo
The driver from Amman was prompt and provided great service and conversation for the long trip. Petra itself was amazing and much larger than anticipated - make sure you plan for a long day in the desert. The primary complaints are the local guide (not very helpful), trash, and countless peddlers.
The tour was excellent and the driver/guide did a super job.
Excellent trip . From been picked up early by my driver ,who was very polite and good driver . We arrived at petra .i was taken back from start to finish . The little shop there is a little expensive . Its very dusty and old shoes are a must , good walking boots . The beduins love to show you there home land . I will go back if only to see the rest . The high light of my trip was to meet and get my book signed by Margaret who wrote married to a beduin .amazing lady ,amazing story . Its a must for everyone to see the fabulous country and especially Petra . I will be back for sure
Madaba was a nice start with the old mosiac map
Mount Nebo was peaceful however the place of worship was closed for renovation which was a shame and we felt that they could have done more to celebrate this site
Paid extra to see Jesus Baptist site as nearby which was incredible, good local tour guide
Floating in the Dead sea was a great experience, highly recommended
Excellent tour! The local guide was excellent, and very knowledgeable. A must when in Jordan!
United Arab Emirates
This tour was amazing. Everybody should have seen it. Unbelievable beautiful and huge. We spend almost 5 hours there, because we wanted to see all, even the biggest building "The Monastery" 800 steps up and back down. Unforgettable experience.
What a great way to see many of the city's landmarks in just half a day! Excellent lunch location for some authentic Arabic food too.
driver showed up on time.the castles were wonderful to explore. however, the itinerary says 'admissions to the castles' under the 'inclusions' section, but the driver kept asking me to pay for the castle entrance ticket. According to the tour description the entrance to the castles were included. So why did the driver ask me to pay for the entrance tickets? Either the tour inclusions were wrong or the driver tried to make me pay. because of this, i'm rating this tour just a 3 stars. if not because of this, it would have been a 5.
To start we had a great guide/driver who picked us up from the air port and drove us around to take care of some business matters before heading to the hotel , Kempinski, with out any fuss, by the way what a great hotel.
The tour to Petra from the Dead Sea took about 3 hours by road with a couple of breaks on the way.
Once there be ready for a bit of walking and it can be hot and dusty but what a place and worth the time, about 4 hours. The guide once there is not your driver but a local guide, good but they really don't know much about the place and ditch you at the end to make your own way back which is pretty easy.
Look out for the guys who will take you back to the entrance once you finished by horse and cart, they should only charge $20 per couple, they try and charge each.
The return trip, another 3 hours by a different route, gave us the chance to see more of the country
Be ready to tip every one as part of the deal here but what a great place.
This tour was amazing!
Our driver from Amman to Petra was awesome. Probably one of the nicest people we met during the entire trip. His name was Hassan and if you're there I highly recommend him. He's very knowledgable about everything Jordan. Amazing experience overall. DO IT!
Great day trip to Petra, amazing driver Jemal, and very informative guide on site too - definitely recommend!
Both of these sites were very interesting and very different. There is a lot of walking on the Jerash tour so one needs to be able-bodied. The site itself is vast.
Great experience!! our driver, Ehsam, was great and took us many places for us to see. Jordanian people are very warm and welcoming. Remeber to take bathing suit and flip flops for the dead sea!
Excellent tour!!! totally a "no miss" if you come to Jordan! the tour guide was excellent! take a hat becasue the sun can be very tough at noon!
We had the driver Munir he was excellent!!! I would recommend paying the additional $ to have him met you before the visa entry since the line was so slow the first time and so long the 2nd time. He drove us to Petra which was perfect, he is the BEST driver in Jordan we had several to compare him to. I would also recommend you plan to ride a horse when you get to Petra NOT the horse buggie which is NOT included in the price but dress appropriately for a short horse back ride and have good hiking shoes. I was not really prepared. I would also suggest you go for the candle lite night that is held 3 nights a week from 8.30-10.30 where they light hundreds of candles to see Petra by night. I would also recommend 3 days to see the entire thing or 6 hours for the short version of it. We had the BEST guide who was a professional photographer his name was Adnan Al Farajat. He was INCREDIBLE! The best hotel is the lower Movenpick since there are 2 properties a lower and an upper. We wish we had more time to drive by ways of the dead sea which is a 4 hour drive through the resort area and the mountains and had possibly spent some time there we were just so short on time. We should have planned more time in Jordan since it is clean, safe, incredible. The Four Seasons in Amann was Perfect too! I'd like to go back and stay when we have more time!!!
