Doing what: Amsterdam Hop-On Hop-Off Tour
Although we didn't get much to be off and on ( again, it was misty and 32F that day), so all we did just got in to see the city and got off for the canal cruise. Otherwise, it covered the most interesting places in Amsterdam.

Doing what: Amsterdam Super Saver 3: City Tour, Zaanse Schans Windmills, Volendam and Marken Day Trip
The tour was broken into two halves, with different buses and guides. The first half was tour of the city, a stop a the Zananse Schans Windmill and a tour of the diamond factory. You see the city from the bus and make a 10 minute stop to take a picture infront of a windmill. The city is small enough that you can really get more out of traveling on your own by foot. The second half of the tour ROCKED!!! (As evidenced by the fact that the bus was completely full for this portion). Our guide was fantastic and the villages of Volendam and Marken were fun. Surprisingly, the woodend shoe factory was my favorite part of the trip. You definately need to take a tour of somekind to see something outside of the city proper. I would just recommend booking the second portion of the tour as a stand alone tour, rather then the one including the city tour.

Doing what: Amsterdam City Sightseeing Tour
The tour was interesting and is a quick, easy way to get a good overview of the city's layout but rather forgettable once it is over and done. It is appropriate for an introduction to the city but you need to go back and re-visit things to actually experience them.

Doing what: Amsterdam Hop-On Hop-Off Tour
Buy the tickets in advance and you save more money vs. purchasing it upon arrival. Please note the reduced hours in the winter time. There is not really a drop off/pick up sign. Just meet back at the same place you got dropped off at. We went to Amsterdam in January so it only ran from 10am until 230pm (except Saturdays.) We purchased the canal tour; however I do not feel it was really needed for what we wanted to do. The driver of the bus was very nice. If you buy the tours in advance. From Central station main exit, head towards the right pass the visitor center, cross over the bridge. There will be a bus lot by the canals and just look for the red double decker. The times were very accurate leaving Central Station and we just counted travel time to the other stops to figure out a round about pick up time. Ex. We got off at Anne Frank, It took us 15mins to get there from central station. So if the next bus leaves Central Station at 1:00pm, it should be there to pick us up around 1:15. I saw alot of complaints on Trip Advisor but Im not really sure why. Well worth the money

Doing what: Amsterdam Super Saver 3: City Tour, Zaanse Schans Windmills, Volendam and Marken Day Trip
I found this tour really wonderful and I fully satisfied with it.
We went to all the said placeses and really enjoy the scenery and activity. The guy at Marken village and the Dutch girl at the Volendam cheese market are so funny and very friendly. Just need to make sure you are on time as the tour office are very particular on the time.

Excellent day trip. I would highly recommend, especially if you are in Amsterdam for a short time only. Good for all ages.

I found this a very easy way to get round the sights and the commentary was an added bonus.

Doing what: Amsterdam City Sightseeing Tour
Due to heavy snow I believe there were perhaps some city sights that could not be visited, but instead we were taken into the countryside and given quite a special look at the area a little out of Amsterdam. Our guide was very informative, friendly and invited us to ask questions. A worthwhile tour.

Doing what: Amsterdam Hop-On Hop-Off Tour
Did the full round without getting off which was good to get my bearings. The stop at Gassan Diamonds was unexpected as I had already been there on the half day tour. I followed this up with the canal cruise which was excellent, particularly as the sun came out. The guide was very good with some great stories about the houses, their owners and in some cases their peculiarities.

Doing what: Amsterdam Super Saver 3: City Tour, Zaanse Schans Windmills, Volendam and Marken Day Trip
This was a good tour - the afternoon was great visiting a fishing village to see the cheese place (bought too much cheese), then onto a place that makes the clogs - how impressive. Windmill stop as well. I recommend this tour.
