Doing what: Amsterdam City Sightseeing Tour

It was our first visit to Amsterdam and so this reasonably priced trip was a great way of getting our bearings.

Doing what: Amsterdam City Sightseeing Tour

Unfortunantely due to our flight coming from Kuala Lumper was over an hour late taking off we didn't arrive in Amsterdam in time to do the tour. However we did manage to do some sight seeing on our own.

The morning tour was good. The guide was really nice and funny. The afternoon tour was boring. They spent too much time on pottery tour, Delft but too little time for the miniature park, which was fantastic. Will recommend that take the morning tour only and go on your own for Miniature park

We stopped at the tour company the day before the tour. While our voucher said the tour begins at 9:30am, he told us not to worry about arriving at 9:30am on the dot since the tour wouldn't be leaving until 10:00am. So we arrived for the tour at 9:32am and were told that the tour had already departed. I told the agent what had happened the day before and he said, "I guess you were given incorrect information." He did correct the situation and exchanged our voucher for a hop-on hop-off bus tour (with recorded audio for a guide) and an evening canal cruise. So it all worked out in the end.

i slept for most part of the tour...the stops were not really that great either. The trip to diamond factory was good.

The first part of the tour was not very good, which included a bus tour of the city and the diamond factory. The tour guide was not descriptive in her narrative. She would not give details. Plus it was not an English tour. It was a Spanish, French, German, and English tour...very disappointing.

Doing what:

This was one of our best tours. The excitement of just riding a bike with all the locals was crazy!! This city is populated with more bikes than scooters and cars. Our tour guide was so awesome, he was funny very laid back. The bike ride was easy besides riding around with a million other bikers. He took us all around Amsterdam telling us the best places to eat, talking about the history of the city. We stopped by a brewery and had a few drinks that were cheaper than any other bar we went to. We got some delicious gelato ice cream. He talked about the city buildings the city flag. We went through a small part of Vondelpark. Just an all around amazing day and tour. Our bikes were new and good looking. What a great time. Thanks so much!

what a wonderful city..we booked a time at the
Anne Frank haus..you can't imagine how moving...and Ruben's house..a real treasure..and the boat tour the topper. did everything in one day but would have loved a few more to discover this wonderful, exciting city. bikes, bikes, bikes...great food...and lots of sights. side note: left camera on train and a native from Holland found and returned it to us...a great lesson in human nature. great people. lulu

Although I have been to Amsterdam several times, it was interesting for my wife which was her first time to Amsterdam. Despite the rain, the tour was enjoyable.

Doing what:

On my first full day in Amsterdam, I took part in this city bike tour. I was originally supposed to do the "historical" tour that morning, but due to problems getting into Amsterdam (from Rotterdam, where I was staying), I had to call Viatour and hope that they could reschedule my tour to the afternoon. I am pleased that they were able to accommodate me and so I actually did a "culinary" bike tour with a small group of six + guide via the Orange Bike shop. The tour was a 3-hour leisurely excursion through the city with frequent stops for food tastings (e.g., pickled raw herring, award-winning Dutch cheeses, Dutch ales and spirits) and historical landmarks. We rode just like the natives sans helmet through this most interesting city carved by canals and dominated by bicycles of all styles, sizes, and colors. It was great! Our well-informed tour guide, a delightful young woman in her 20s, who was also a kindergarten teacher and musician/artist led our small group for the afternoon. It was a great tour and gave us a little glimpse of the food, culture, history, and people of Amsterdam. Very interesting tour - highly recommend seeing Amsterdam by bike (with a guide)!
