Very funny and great tour guide. Competent at his job. He gave us lots of amusing details as on the Red Light District as on the town history. The 2 houres tour was like the best cabaret.

we met our tour guide at the appointed time and we set off on our walk around the street of Amsterdam we first stopped at the shop that sells everything for safe sex which apparently is a charity that helps stop HIV and other sexual deseases spreading then on to the red light district to see the windows that the girls operate from i was suprised as was my wife to see them operate right beside a church that had houses built on to the side of it apprently so that the church goers that lived there could be nearer to god. seen the oldest house, the flower market, smallest house, cheese shop was excellant, had coffee, and learnt a lot from sean our guide he was superb and new a great deal about Amsterdam the formation of the dykes and how the Amsterdamers constructed them to the building of the houses and if you had a set of steps that went ether way from your front door the old saying money coming in and money going out. Sean showed us a pie and mash shop in one of the streets and it looked really appetising so after Sean had done his duty and left us back at our hotel my wife and i went back to the said shop and enjoyed a feast of Pie and mash it was fantastic and thanks again for a wounderful adventure

This tour was very informative, it was so interesting to get the background info on how the red light district works. Our tour guide did such a great job telling us about the streets and the different kinds of prostitutes. We did get a free drink when we got to the information center. We got to ask a still working prostitute questions. Overall it was a great tour. I felt like i left with a better understanding of the red light district.

Great experience and if you have limited days it is best to book ahead by Viator. We were so glad that we did that and the canal tour was great. I will recommend the guided tour through Red Light District.

We did wonder if we were on the right tour to start with when the guide talked mainly about the architecture of the area. However we soon found that this was just part of a very comprehensive commentary on the Red LIght District, its history and its present day mode of operation. The conclusion, a candid and entertaining talk by a practising prostitute was a fitting end to a most informative tour and a glimpse into a world apart for most of us.

Great tour of the Red Light district. Really explains the history of the area and how the industry came about. The visit to the Prostitute Information Center (PIC) was very informative - the Q and A with a former prostitute really helped to set context and the reality vs. the myth. I highly recommend this tour.

What a fabulous tour! Well worth the money and time. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and funny, giving us a brief history of Amsterdam before we actually got to the Red Light District. Meeting a former prostitute brought insight to this business and she too was incredibly informative. It left me with mixed feelings about the women who 'choose' to do this as a job. This isn't a seedy tour full of stag do lads but one for people of all ages above 18 who genuinely want to know more about the area and this business.

The Red Light District is one of the more interesting areas that I've visited in my travels. Coming from America, which tends to view prostitution in a negative light, it was refreshing to be able to actually speak to a former sex worker about her time in the profession. Our tour guide, Chantal, was fantastic. She's knowledgeable and engaging, and she made an already interesting topic into something that I want to share with my friends. I would recommend this tour to everyone, especially those who view the sex work/prostitution industry in a less than positive manner. Actually speaking to professionals could very possibly change your view on one of the oldest professions in the world.

Well, who wants to go to a Red Light District? The truth is that it exists and one should at least know the back story. As a previous reviewer said that convinced me to take this tour was that it truly is anything but sleezy. This is not a lecture, but a peek at real humanity, knowing the whys, the hows, and the who's. The "sex worker" can be appreciated as being human and were it not for the money, probably wouldn't do it. The tour guide was a pro and the group discussion with the maddam brought home the fascinating world that these women face.

The tour guide taught us a lot about the culture and history of the Red Light District. Going to the Prositition Center was interesting too. Although it is not necessary to have a tour guide for the Red Light District I would recommend this tour.

This is a absolutely outstanding tour. Our tour guide Shantel was great. She was a native of Amsterdam and well versed in the red light district. The meeting with the ex-prostitute was very enlightening and really explained how legal prostitution is very different, yet can still have the stigma. I highly recommend this tour -- it was fun and informative!
