All the various tour guides were great. Very friendly and their English was awesome.
It was very nice to see the difference in todays process and from the past. The real difference is there are machines now that can work faster and more reliably than people. The beer is still the same. The " Brew You " ride was a pleasant surprise, I didn't even know it was part of the tour, sweet!
If you like Heineken, and you're from North America, or elsewhere, you will love it in Amsterdam. Fresh from the tap, filled to the center of the red star, and just enough head to reach the brim of the glass.
This tour was great. In every sense, it was great. There are games, and plenty of photo ops throughout the building. The bar at the end of the tour is great, perfect beer, perfect mood.
The gift shop was naturally NOT an option. You traverse through to get to the exit. I am glad, I saw a watch that just caught my eye, had to have it! Prices were more reasonable than you would think!
I think if you like beer, or if you like history, or if you're interested in an important part of Holland, you MUST do this tour.
Loved the canals! Heineken experience was enjoyable, but long. Definitely worth the money to buy these together.
I bought the 24 hours day pass and it was a waste of money. You need a good 3-4 hours at Heineken And while there's four different lines on the hop on hop off bus, bear in mind that each only runs 30 mins to 1 hour per stop, so if you miss it, it's some time wasted. If you only have one day, then buy the Heineken ticket through other means (do it in advance to avoid lines). If you have two days, this is a good option. Spend a good half day at Heinken and the other day just on the bus tour (it has audio guides on board) and appreciate the canal round in Amsterdam. Keep in mind, the transport in Amsterdam is rididucously convenient, you could easily buy a day pass (or more) and hop on and off the tram to browse around the city. Obviously, canal bus will give you a different view of the city.
Heineken experience is five stars, I didn't utilise the canal pass that much, so that wasn't for me. Best to do heineken on it's own. However I'm not the one to judge canal pass.
Brilliant way to get around this gorgeous city. The Heineken Experience was great. I don't even drink beer, but still found the tour very enjoyable, fun, interactive and full of history. My husband was pleased, as he got to drink my share of the beer too!
This is recommended providing you do your research ahead of time to find out if the activities you like are included. We covered the Rijks and Van Gogh Museums, did the 1 hr. canal cruise, My son used 1 of his for the Heineken Experience which he thoroughly enjoyed. We did the Reypenauer Cheese tasting session which was great-learned lots about cheese and wine pairings. In the end, we had a couple of unused vouchers on our pass so don't know if we got our value.
Doing what: Skip the Line: Amsterdam and Holland Pass
This tour is definitely worth it!!! The Heineken Experience started off a little boring but then it turned into the best. time. ever. Soooo fun and everyone should do it whether you are a beer drinker or not!
THE HEINEKEN EXPERIENCE WAS NICE BUT REALLY NEED TO BE IN A CROWD AND YOUNG
THE CANAL CRUISE WAS FANTASTIC. VERY WELL ORGANIZED AND MOST ENJOYABLE
CAN RECOMMEND TO ANY ONE, OLD OR YOUNG. WORTH EVERY CENT SPENT
Loved it. Before you enter - ask for ticket to the boat ride to the another Heineken shop in advance.
Terrific combination package. Lots of flexibility with when to visit the Heineken Experience during the day and still have time to get to the pizza cruise. If you are a beer lover, the Heineken Experience is a fun way to learn about the history, participate in interactive activities, and enjoy free beer. My husband and I truly enjoyed the pizza cruise! The boat was plenty spacious and comfortable. Free wine, beer, or non-alcoholic beverages were served almost immediately and throughout the cruise. We happened to have a female captain as well as the servers, and the ladies were fun, professional, and knowledgable about the area. A great way to relax and enjoy the evening while touring the lovely canals of Amsterdam.
Tour of Heineken Brewery was great fun. The Canal Bus was lovely and a great way to get between sites. Saves on the footware.
What a great way to get around Amsterdam for the day! Go by canal. It was a lovely hot day and the canal trips were awesome. The Heineken a lot of fun.
Informative tour, lots of interactive fun, great iced Heineken at the end
This was a really fun and interesting trip - not to mention the unexpected horses! The former brewery shows you how the Company grew from it's early beginnings. Some of the fun highlights include a 'ride' where the participants stand on an oscillating platform whilst watching a video presentation of how the various ingredients go together to make Heineken beer! This is followed by the first taste of the finished beer! The tour route continues through some of the marketing and advertising campaigns, including a display of the Champions League. There are a few interactive things to try out and opportunities to personalise a bottle! The tour ends in the bar, with a chance to pull your own pint (or half as is the way on the continent). As you leave the tour, you have the opportunity to buy branded merchandise in the museum shop - if you can imagine it, they have stuck a Heineken badge on it! This was a really fun tour, the staff all spoke very good English - in fact the entire tour, video clips and wall mounted display were all in English! - and were really interesting to listen to. We combined this tour with a Hop On - Hop Off ticket for the Canal Bus which made the tickets fantastic value for money - we thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would recommend it to you. The tour route has many stairs and covers a fair distance, so you need to be relatively fit and mobile, we didn't see any visible evidence of a wheelchair route.
The canal cruise was fantastic! However, I was expecting more in the Heineken Experience. I have toured museums and breweries previously with a guide which was much more informative. If you are expecting a guided tour or plenty of insight, this is not the tour for you. There were plaques located next to the items on display which required reading and waiting for fellow explorers to step aside. The pizza canal tour was very nice and I highly recommend it!
