Doing what: Amsterdam Walking Tour

This was a great tour. My friend and I were the only two on the tour and our guide Terry was awesome. He was very knowledgeable and made the tour entertaining. He also was able to provide us with some good tios for our time in Amsterdam. Would highly recommend this tour!

Doing what: Amsterdam Red Light District Walking Tour

This is a absolutely outstanding tour. Our tour guide Shantel was great. She was a native of Amsterdam and well versed in the red light district. The meeting with the ex-prostitute was very enlightening and really explained how legal prostitution is very different, yet can still have the stigma. I highly recommend this tour -- it was fun and informative!

Doing what: I amsterdam Card - City Pass for Amsterdam

Pass was great - only problem was they could not find reference to our voucher on their computer, but honoured it anyway (Tourist office opposite Amsterdam Main rail station).

Doing what: Amsterdam Canals Dinner Cruise

Wow this tour was legit. keep in mind that is nowhere near dark when you go on this tour. Amsterdam has like no night but for like 5 hours. this starts at 7 and its bright out haha. The plus side though is that they served white wine the whoooooole night. I was wasted after this. I had to sit with some randoms though. I was drunk and it wasn't a romantic deal so i didnt care. The food was awesome, and we got to see lots of the redlight distirict, along with other things that may interest other parties haha.

Our guide was awesome! He tailored the walk to what we wanted. We had a small group of 3 of us so we could ask all the questions we wanted and he even stopped for amsterdam beers and snacks because we were parched. Our tour ended up being 4 hours- it was awesome! I highly recommend doing this tour!!!

We had a great guide, an Irish guy but I cant remember his name. The walk was at a good pace and was full of interesting insights and places I would not have seen otherwise. I think all of Amsterdam's top sights were covered by this tour and would highly recommend it. We actually ended up running 30mins over and I didn't notice as the tour was so engaging.

Doing what: Amsterdam Red Light District Walking Tour

Having already stumbled upon the Red Light district (right next to the main shopping area) we had already seen part of what goes on. What we hoped to get from this was an insight into the area and the history. We were not disappointed. I think there was some worried faces at first but our guide was extremely helpful and gave us lots of tips on what we could and couldn't do. We were told exactly how the trip would progress and was informed to ask questions at any and every opportunity. Having been informed of the history we were then led down the 'old' Amsterdam and into the red light area. There were none of the windows at this part but eventually we saw a couple before ending at the Prostitute Information centre for a drink and an explanation of what goes on, how it works and current legislation affecting the workers. We then left for a tour of the 'window' and 'club' areas of the district. It was fascinating to say the least and despite an extremely heavy rain shower or two we did enjoy the walk. For anyone wishing to see the district without feeling that they are there for other reasons I can recommend that you take this tour. It is not embarrassing or 'dirty' but factual and informative. Our guide was perfect and she gave us tips on staying safe and how to enjoy the area without fear.
