The traditional cuisine of Amsterdam is straightforward and hearty. Simple meaty dishes feature such as snert (a calorie-ridden pea soup thickened with leeks, celery and smoked sausage and served with bacon and rye bread) or stamppot boerenkool  ...

For anyone looking to get a feel of Dutch cuisine, this tour is excellent. When I took the tour, our guide was great - informative and entertaining. The tour lead us to see the beautiful sights of the Jordaan District that we might not have stumbled on ourselves. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous so definitely come hungry.

Sean was exceptional. We were the only two on the tour. There was one no show. So it was extra special to be given that much attention and insight into the unique history, current state, and food tastings that Sean provided us. He went well out of his way to explain Dutch social culture and the latest up and coming cuisines. I would highly recommend this tour.

Food is a huge part of any culture, as is true for The Netherlands. We sampled some tasty cuisine (best fries ever!) and not-so-tasty cuisine (the herring was out of season and terrible). Our guide brought us into one of the grocery stores to show us popular foods, etc., which I found interesting. The guys? Not so much. It was the least favorite part of the tour for them. One of the high points was lunch at La Place, which was a sea of beautifully presented foods. Overall, I found the tour interesting and fun.

My husband took me on this cruise for my birthday and it was absolutely perfect in every way!! The boat was very comfortable, the service prompt, food was absolutely excellent and they really did provide drinks in the cost of the price! The waterways look so romantic at night with the beautiful lights from the building reflecting on the water and the lit up bridges, it truly was a wonderful trip that I think everyone should make time for! It was something different to do in this wonderful city and what better way to spend an evening than experiencing romantic scenery and eating fine cuisine!
With regard to my booking, I accidentally booked the candlelight cruise and had to cancel and re-book this dinner cruise which, at first I thought would be a daunting task, however it was very easy and my refund came through quickly and efficiently! Overall my booking experience with Viator was excellent and I would definitely use them again.

Absolutely stunning views of Amsterdam in the evening, a must for every tourist. Food is OK, overall not very impressed by Dutch cuisine, but the views of the Amsterdam canals are magnificent. Highly recommend for couples and adults of any age. Not cool to bring the screaming child on the cruise where people trying to enjoy nice dinner and nice views.
