The Jordaan District in Amsterdam
One of my favorite neighborhoods in Amsterdam, Jordaan retains its historic feel while being alive with a great contemporary life.

Just across Prisengracht canal from the Anne Frank House, Jordaan was built in the 17th century to house the working-class, but is now much more affluent with art galleries, restaurants and quirky little shops along its narrow grid of streets.
