Doing what: Keukenhof Gardens and Tulip Fields Tour from Amsterdam

Even though it was rather early in the season for the tulips, the Keukenhof Gardens were absolutely spectacular. The tulip and orchid greenhouses were amazing. The daffodils, crocus, hyacinths and flowering trees were in full bloom. The design and layout of the gardens provide something different and special to see along every path.
Even though we lost a large chunk time on the road due to a traffic jam caused by road construction, the Viator tour guide and coach driver adjusted our return schedule to give us the full allotment of time in the gardens.

Doing what: Skip the Line: Amsterdam and Holland Pass

I would say that the first there categories namely A, B and C cover the most attractive places. I used A for the Van Gogh Museum, B for Keukenhof Tulip Garden the garden only opens 2 months in a year that is to say in spring season and C for Canal Cruise since I stayed 4 days and 3 nights in Holland. But, to use all the remaining D & E, you have to stay a bit longer. But, a bit misleading on the Miniature City in Madurodam as it only provides 10 discount check at the bottom part of the page in the booklet for the entrance fee and the coupon either A,B,C,D or E is not applicable for the free entrance.

We had a brilliant day visiting the Keukenhof Gardens. We were lucky that the weather was warm and the tulips were in full bloom. I would recommend visiting at the end of April - early May.

Doing what: Keukenhof Gardens and Tulip Fields Tour from Amsterdam

This is an excellent tour. Essentially the travel company simply supplies return bus travel from Amsterdam to Keukenhof with a good combination of departure and return times and ticket for the gardens, but the convenience of the arrangement makes it worth while. We went at the very end of the season so the 'tulip fields tour' element of the package was minimal. The gardens are superb and one can easily spend 4 hours or more. Worth taking a picnic.

Doing what: Keukenhof Gardens and Tulip Fields Tour from Amsterdam

This trip is a must see. It was the best trip we took in Holland. Keukenhof Garden is undoubtedly the most beautiful spring garden in the world. The best time to go there is in April when all the flowers including tulips and hyacinths are in full bloom. Don't wait until the month of May for paying a visit to the gardens as by then the flowers may perish. This trip could have been even better had there been a 5 minute photo stop at the Tulip flowerfields.

First time to Keukenhof Garden, unsure if we could stand the three quarter day trip but we did not get bored once! Managed to fill the day, on the way there and back we had commentary from a knowledgeable guide. Well run and informative. The gardens are fantastic so much more than just tulips!!

Doing what: Keukenhof Gardens and Tulip Fields Tour from Amsterdam

Really enjoyed our trip to Keukenhof - the only problem was that the tulips were not out in the many garden beds because of the late blast of cold weather experienced in Europe. Everything was at least 3 weeks behind.
However the hot houses were magnificent with so many different flowers including hycianths, bromiliads, tulips, daffodils, and many more.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day walking around the gardens.

Doing what: Keukenhof Gardens and Tulip Fields Tour from Amsterdam

We had a phone call from the tour operator before we left the UK to say that they were very busy on the day of our visit (Easter Sunday) and asked of it was possible to exchange our voucher for tickets the day before. This was no problem as we were in Amsterdam on that day and it made it easier on the day of the tour. The coach was modern and the courier was very good giving lots of information on Amsterdam and the sites we passed on the way to and from the Keukenhof Gardens. In fact the coach came back by a different route so it was like a mini tour in its own right. Unfortunately the tulip bulbs were not in flower due to the harsh spring weather but that was just our bad luck. You could see that the gardens were going to be lovely in a few weeks time. All in all a good trip.

Keukenhof Gardens well worth a visit especially when tulips in season. Whole tour well organised to the gardens then plenty of time to view at own leisure.

A really great day at the Keukenhof Gardens, a theme park of flowers. Well worth a visit. The tulip field tour didn't really happen, maybe it was too late in the season, but the tour rep didn't mention anything!!

Doing what: Keukenhof Gardens and Tulip Fields Tour from Amsterdam

I did 5 hours at the Keukenhof at Easter 2012. Gardens flowering nicely, tulips getting close to peaking. Just the right amount of time for a leisurely stroll, lots of photos, and a stop to eat. Clear weather but breezy and cold, so take a good coat. Note visit to Keukenhof Castle is extra as run by separate entity, which I did not know beforehand. I did not visit the castle, though you can do this easily too without increasing the amount of time at the gardens. Tour made it easy to get there, and quick thanks to a detour to avoid traffic, but apart from some light but interesting commentary on the bus did not add much, hence four stars. I was there for the gardens to this did not matter; the gardens on their own would get five stars. Tour was back in Amsterdam on time.

Had a lovely afternoon at The Keukenhof Gardens, well worth visiting although a little disappointed that not all the tulips were out yet. A venue worth visiting but I would recommend mid April or later to be sure all plants have flowered.

Doing what: Keukenhof Gardens and Tulip Fields Tour from Amsterdam

Keukenhof Gardens are worth a visit. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the Tulip Fields Tour was practically non-existent. The bus simply passes by some flower fields which are surrounding the gardens. The guides were ok but unremarkable.

We were directed to the wrong bus and ended up at Keukenhof Gardens in the morning and missed the Amsterdam City Tour. We were given a pass to the Hop On Hop Off Bus instead so we still got a City Tour. I was a little disappointed in Keukenhof Gardens as the tulips were pretty well gone. But that couldn't be helped as the weather in April was so warm that everything blossomed sooner.

Doing what: Keukenhof Gardens and Tulip Fields Tour from Amsterdam

We were about 1 1/2 weeks to late to see the tulip fields in bloom, as they had already cut off the heads, but Keukenhof was not a disappointment. The Damrak embarkation point is frustrating. Not enough staff to direct people. Very caotic. Arrive early for your tour.
