A museum that enriches an understanding of different cultures, the Bowers Museum is a must-visit for its imaginative exhibitions, lectures, art classes, travel programs, children’s art and music education programs, and other community events.
The Bowers Museum permanent collection includes more than 100,000 objects focusing on several areas, such as African, South Pacific, Asian, Native American, Pre-Columbian art, and California plein-air painting. The museum also presents a variety of special exhibitions through fruitful partnerships with Smithsonian, the Nanjing Museum, the Shanghai Museum, and the British Museum, among others.
Two blocks south of the main building, the Kidseum offers multi-faceted art and cultural educational experiences for young children, their families, and the community. It provides children a fun environment where imagination and creativity are not only encouraged, but nurtured.

Every first Sunday is free admission, and every Tuesday is free for Santa Ana residents. It's a nice, small museum and the restaurant is fabulous.
The Bowers Museum is located just off Interstate 5, off the 17th street exit, on Main and West 20th streets, in Santa Ana. The museum is just 15 minutes southeast of Disneyland. The museum restaurant, Tangata, serves a variety of cuisine in its Southwestern-inspired dining room and outdoor terrace. The museum also has a store with exhibit-related books and gifts.
