Indeed, Spain’s southernmost continental community is the source of some of the nation’s most well known varietals, with winemaking believed to date back some 2,500 years. These days, Andalucia boasts four regions with DO status (the wine classification called Deminación de Origen) and another 16 with a certification one step down (called vino de la tierra).
