For a small group tour, this did not meet my expectations. Really, it's your hotel accommodations and day trips with different groups of people. You are not traveling with the same small group, so you are essentially on your own. Day 1 went fine, pick up at hotel and travel to Ataturk Airport was good. Day at Ephesus was with two other people and our guide, which was nice and felt personalized. Day 2 went downhill. The day was for Pamukkale, which I was very excited about. I knew it was a long drive (I was told 3 hours) but it turned into an even longer event because there were 29 people in the group. The day did not have a personal feel and the almost 12 hour day was mostly spent driving and hanging out at a bus rest stop (on the return we actually spent extra time there so they could wash the large bus). The rest stops took longer and lunch the stop took longer because there were so many people, so we only actually had 2.5 hours at Pamukkale which felt rushed. Really, it would have been nice to have at least 4-5 hours there. Also, because there were so many people we detoured from the itinerary and did not visit the leather factory. Finally, our guide only spent about 30 minutes with us at Pamukkale and really didn't give us much information. Day 3- Flight to Cappadocia-I had to pay for extra baggage weight at the airport because only allowed for 15kg vs my flight to Izmar allowed 20Kg. I was not aware of the difference and it should have been communicated. When I arrived to the Kayseri airport there was no one to pick me up. I finally had to have a local person call Fez travel. The hotel was over an hour away. The day spent in Cappadocia was with 16 people, which was better than the 29 person group, but still more than the 14 max quoted. If you are looking for "small group" experience, be warned. The trip seemed unorganized and I never knew if I would be picked up or forgotten. The sights are worth seeing! but definitely travel organization needs work.

The tour guides were fabulous, professional and knowledgeable. Very service oriented. Logistics in Turkey were very well done. The cave hotel in Cappadocia (MDC) was a highlight of the trip. The manager, Mustapha, was super accommodating, from opening the restaurant early for our departure to arranging a balloon ride, everything was taken care of in a prompt, efficient, and kind manner. The food at MDC was excellent and staff were top notch. 5 star service!
The only downsides are:
1) The 4-star Grand Onder Hotel in Kusadasi was not up to 4 star standards. Buffet was not good, rooms worn down, maintenance sketchy, and swimming pool questionable. There were lots of much nicer places in town.
2) We wanted a balloon tour of Cappadocia. This was not included and we need to arrange this on our own.
3) Viatour was supposed to get us back to Istanbul. They couldn't find a connection to get us to the airport in time for our next flight. We needed to book this on our own and found a corresponding flight quite easily on the web. Not the full service one would expect for a tour of this price point.
The travel time from one place to the next was long and the van felt really cramped because of it. But Turkey was really beautiful. Wish we could have had more time and taken the 7 day tour. Our guide John was really cool and the driver was the most patient person we have ever met.
My wife and I both a young 58, believe this tour did not meet our expectations. We understood that all meals were included however that is not the case. The 4 and 5 star hotels were at best 3 star. The guide was a last minute substitute that lacked the knowledge and the english language skills we expected. We would not recommend this tour to anyone.
Great group of people. That makes the difference. Our tour guide, Jon, (who is Turkish) was ace.
Well, my impression of the promotion if the trip did not meet my expectations.
Firstly, I assumed that a four day trip would be what it says, not on the first day spending 1 and 1/2 hours driving to Kusadasi, and getting to,d I had a free day.and the fourth day spending 1-1/2 hours travelling back to Izmir from Kusadasi. No touring at all. So 2 days turned out to be a total of 3 hours being procdeed as part of the tour.
2nd day packed up. MY bag and checked out of hotel, as I thought I was having 2 nights in Pammukkale, then I hear from the tour operator that day, while I am supposedly hearing from the Tour Guide of the History of Hierapolis, which I have no idea, as they kept on phoning, as I had the paper work, but I did mother it with me saying about the accommodation.
3rd day Ephesus - fantastic,
however, I really enjoyed the tour, fantastic place, and the guides and drivers who Re FEZ staff were great and also sympathetic to my confused situation.
On the other hand,I thought the total trip of over $500Aus was expensive, considering the tours were only
selling for €49 and €69 per day, and not knowing the distances, between places, ie Kusadasii is so close to Epheses Considering, the false advertising of 4 day tour. I cld have caught a bus to and from Kusadasi and probably paid half the price. But I did enjoy it, it I thought a detailed outline of why the trip entails provided beforeI paid" might have been good to,have.....not just listing places of interest.
All service provided was excellent, BUT ...??? Thank you for asking.
This was our third trip to Turkey in ten years and we have found that each time the service and attention to detail has improved. Our pickups were well communicated and always on time. Our guide was engaging, well informed and courteous and we were happy with the facilities at our hotel in Kusadasi (The Onder). It was a bonus that the seaside shopping and nightlife strip was in easy walking distance from the hotel and gave us another option to enjoy the nightlife during Ramadan. The highlight was definitely Ephesus but the day trip to Pamukkale was also well worth the 2 hour drive. Warning, the weather in August is very hot so appropriate sun protection is a must.
Very comprehensive tour made all the more pleasant by having a small group and a terrific guide Cjan. Also felt very confident with our driver Izzet
The hotels were great and the areas visited were amazing The only stop that was perhaps not as good was Troy - felt it was a bit too contrived
A disappointing trip filled with long drives, an unenthusiastic guide and minimal commentary. This itinerary needs to be reviewed.
I was really looking forward to the tour but our guide who i will not name had rather poor english skills which made it very difficult to concentrate and get involved at the sites . There is a lot of time spent on the bus over 3,000 kms in 6 days which made it very tiring and only 2 of the hotels ( the one in Istanbul and the one in Pammukale ) were of an acceptable standard . Having made those criticisms i did love the Turkish countryside the sites and the hospitality of the Turkish people .
Excellent guide. Did not like the factory vists.
While my visit to Ephesus was well organised and a real enjoyment, the Pamukkale part a real disappointment.
I was picked up (with some 45 minutes delay) to force visit an unworthy visit to a marble factory followed by an early lunch.
Then to be left alone in a commercial complex for a 4-hour swimming on our own pocket for the rest of the day! Not a single word of explanation about the site which was supposed to be a UNESCO listed site.
I should be rating this as a great tour, but the guide was a disappointment. He seems to be tired of the job. On day two of the tour at Pergamum, he gave us a 5 minute site description and retired to the cafeteria telling us to meet him at the bus at 3p.m. There were other tours by the same company at this site and I attached myself to another group who's guide was excellent and gave a great tour of the site. After arriving back at the bus at 3p.m. and sitting for a half hour I had to go and track our guide down in the cafeteria. At this point I took him aside and told him frankly that his tour was poor and he needed to step up. I also asked why we he was in the cafeteria at 3:30 when he had asked us to be at the bus at 3:00. No good explanation. There was some improvement the following two days. The last day of the trip had us on a long drive through the Turkish countryside and a stop at Bursa. Not a word during the 5 hours drive about agriculture in Turkey, what was growing, nothing. The guide slept and played with his cell phone as always. Oner seemed only interested in getting back to Istanbul and on arrival in Bursa he jogged ahead of the group to the Green Mosque. Once inside we got no descriptions of anything while he tapped his thigh impatiently. He then jogged out, again ahead of many of the group members, telling people we had one hour to go to the washroom, tour the silk bazar and have lunch. Chop, chop was the message as we seemed to be cutting into his time. This guide frankly seems bored with is work and the tour was run to his convenience rather than the groups interests. Thank you

It was my 1st ever bus tour and it was memorable.
This was the first bus tour my husband and I joined. We enjoyed every minute of it. Although the travelling per bus was very exhausting we stopped every hour and a half to stretch our legs. The places are very far apart and we would not have seen it if it was not for the tour. Our tourguide, Kevanc was very knowledgeable and professional and it was a pleasure to travel with him. From our pick up to our departure to the airport was very well planned. The last day e took an early flight back to Istanbul from Phumukale as we did not want to spend another 9 hours on the bus.
