Comment from Paige
This remarkable northwestern provincial capital’s full name is Salta La Linda, “Salta the Lovely,” appropriate to its graceful Colonial architecture and truly beautiful natural surroundings. The fertile Lerma Valley stretches moist and verdant to the west, while a multihued desertscape to the east is drenched in that glorious quality of light found only at these altitudes (1187m/3893ft) tempt adventurers to explore.
