Sedona & Flagstaff

Trip Planning & Itineraries

If the scenery looks familiar in picture perfect Sedona, it's probably because you've seen it on the silver screen. With spindly towers, grand buttes and flat-topped mesas, it's easy to understand why Hollywood found these splendid crimson sandstone formations so enticing.

A funky, vibrant town filled with college kids attending Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff boasts cool mountain air, ponderosa pines and even a mountain to ski. Microbreweries, interesting hotels and hip restaurants are housed in historic brick buildings lining the pleasant streets.

Suggested Itineraries: Sedona & Flagstaff

Though Sedona was founded in the 19th century, the discovery of energy 'vortexes' here in the 1980s turned this once modest settlement into a bustling New Age destination. You'll find all sorts of alternative medicine practices in town, along with art galleries, gourmet restaurants and more than one top-end resort.

In Flagstaff, there are plenty of outdoorsy adventures to keep you busy - hiking and biking trails are abundant. Less than a two-hour drive from the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff makes a great regional base.
