Doing what: 4-Day Nile River Cruise from Aswan to Luxor with Optional Private Guide

It was definately a wonderful way to see the Nile!

This was a relaxing trip, especially after being in Cairo for a week. Every thing was well organized, although early mornings were a bit of a bummer for me. Our guide was great, and the boat staff was nice. You still need to tip, so this isn't "all inclusive" in that sense about 300 pounds in total. Drinks were expensive on the boat, so we bought a case of beer before getting there, and there was a fridge in our room. Food was good. Pool table and swimming pool were both pleasant.

Doing what: 5-Day Nile River Cruise from Luxor to Aswan with Optional Private Guide

The highlight of my trip to Egypt. The boat is lovely, bathroom was cute. We had some fuel smell at our end of the corridor--probably close to the boat's tank. The guide we got had a strong accent and spoke pretty fast, so it was tough to follow. For a 40 minute site, the guide suggested 20 minutes and for a 20 minute viewing site he suggested 20 minutes. It did feel rushed. Basically our guide spoke about the monuments and then waited for us outside. Experience on the boat was nice. The housekeeping guy was extra nice. He made some craft out of folded towels and we ended up taking some photos together. The boat and our guide arranged a surprise birthday greeting during dinner for us. The waiters forgot to cut our cake and we ended up doing all the work as we shared our cake with other nearby tables. The entertainment and musicians were good, belly dancer was just ok. Be prepared for the expensive big bottle of water, 15 Egyptian pounds, but usual price is 3 pounds on the street and shops. Be prepared to pay tips at the end of the cruise for the boat service. Our guide told us to tip in Egyptian pounds, 15 pounds for each day. Others from other tour groups were paying 7 USD instead...something a little fishy. They also had an on site photographer for 1 night during the galebeya party; he took very excellent photos, which he sold the next day. On the deck they had afternoon tea. They played some background Egyptian tunes while we sailed and watched the sun go down. Overall a fantastic experience, hope you get a great guide.

The cruise was a lot of fun, and the boat was very nice! The crew were helpful and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. Overall this trip was a very enjoyable experience, I wish we had done the 9 day cruise! The only thing I would change is to include non-alcoholic beverages in the package. I wouldn't mind paying a little more for that!

I really enjoyed the cruise and the great guide, but having to pay for non-alcoholic drinks is not good customer service! Change that, and I would highly recommend Viator!

The whole trip was wonderful: the boat was classy, the food was good and plentiful, and the staff was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised to have a personal tour guide from start to finish for just my wife and I.

The swimming Pool was dirty - we did not use pool for the entire trip. The cruise itinerary 8days 7 nights as advertised was not followed. We did not overnight in Edfu on return, the ship went from Aswan to Luxor with a three hour stop before breakfast. We got back to Luxor a day earlier than advertised. We sailed only thee days, two from Luxor to Aswan and one day from Aswan to Luxor. We stayed at the Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa before the cruise and after the cruise and that was definitely 5 STAR - a well recommended Resort. There was no electric jugs in our two cabins. Tea and coffee was served at breakfast, but we had to pay for tea and coffee at lunch and dinner. Bottled water and soft drink was LE 12.0 on the ship and LE 3.0 to LE 5.0 on Land. There was no complimentary bottled water in bar fridge in cabin. The bar fridge was empty - no grog or soft drink at all. We could not borrow or rent an iron for ironing my shirts. WE had to pay for the very slow laundry service on the ship. The laundry service could not guarantee reliable outcomes for their service and so offered as an example 10 x the value of the cleaning cost i.e. LE 5 for a Shirt. That would equate to LE 50 for a shirt that I paid LE 500. There was no safety briefings and where to go if we were on fire or sinking, even the staff gave me as many answers. The internet Connection was very slow. It was a 6 day 5 night cruise, Luxor to Luxor. The only cruise from Luxor to Aswan over two or three days and then travel to Abu Simbel.

Food, accommodation and staff excellent. Time ashore on cruising day a bit too limited. Overall very happy.

The mirage was clean and beautiful, food was fabulous and crew wonderful. Disappointed with our guide.

We had a great time during our 5 day Nile cruise on board the Al Kahila. The boat was luxurious, and service as well as food was great. The sightseeing trips were well planned and interesting, and our guide was very knowledgeable in the history, culture and beliefs of both ancient and modern Egypt. The local agency was also helpful in arranging other fair priced sightseeing trips outside the itinerary of this package. Plan for some extra days before the cruise in Luxor to also see Abydos, Dendera and Valley of the Queens, and also extra days afterwards to see Abu Simbel, the Nubian Museum, etc. I hope that you will also have an unforgettable time!

Doing what: 5-Day Nile River Cruise from Luxor to Aswan with Optional Private Guide

The best trip ever. Everything was fantastic.

You can easily see all the sights on a one way trip, but it will seem rushed. A Nile cruise from Aswan instead of Luxor is more relaxed especially if you include a trip to Abu Simbel. Aswan is a much prettier city and not quite as touristy. You will have plenty of time in Luxor. The MY Mirage 1 is a good boat and good value. Food is great, cabins are clean, staff is friendly and our guide was knowledgeable.
