Doing what: 4-Day Nile River Cruise from Aswan to Luxor with Optional Private Guide
This is the best way to see the upper Nile!

Doing what: 4-Day Nile River Cruise from Aswan to Luxor with Optional Private Guide
It was terrific to have a private guide. Our guide was very attentive and took excellent care of us during the trip. We also had a good experience with the people from the local agency that Viator used for this who took care of meeting us before the cruise and taking us to the airport afterwards. We saw a lot and are glad we went.

Doing what: 4-Day Nile River Cruise from Aswan to Luxor with Optional Private Guide
Would recommend doing the 3 day Nile cruise on MY Mirage, a good price, good boat. Overall excellent value.

Doing what: 4-Day Nile River Cruise from Aswan to Luxor with Optional Private Guide
The boat and crew were first rate. Very good attention from the guide, however, as a seasoned traveler, I felt a bit "crowded" by the guide. Tipping is customary in Egypt however, the guide greatly over stated the level to which one must tip which makes me wonder it the cruise company pays too little to the taxi drivers, carriage drivers, crew and others they employ.

Doing what: 4-Day Nile River Cruise from Aswan to Luxor with Optional Private Guide
The overall Nile cruise was fantastic. Our guide however, was lazy and wanted to finish all the tours before lunch, despite the fact we had the whole day to complete the touring. He often blamed Ramadan, and even said the weather is draining in the afternoon. Excuses after excuses, we ended up zooming past many monuments, didn't even get taken to some sites like the Obelisk, and feel overall we were paying too much for too little.

Doing what: Private Tour: Abu Simbel Flight and Tour from Aswan
The flight was a bit over-priced considering we paid for the tour guide as well. Perhaps the bus is more feasible if you have a little more time. The temple itself is a must-see on any Egyptian tour.

Doing what: Private Tour: Abu Simbel Flight and Tour from Aswan
Outstanding, everyone who goes to Egypt should see Abu Simbel! With the short amount of time with the guide I was impressed how much info he gave us and he made sure to tell us what to look for. Look out for the groups that descend in mass though! Being in a small group our guide was able to get us into the temples at a different time to the big groups so we had alot of time inside almost completely alone.

Doing what: Private Tour: Philae Temple, Aswan High Dam and Unfinished Obelisk
Our guide was excellent and we loved Philae - a peaceful oasis after Abu Simbel.

Doing what: Private Tour: Philae Temple, Aswan High Dam and Unfinished Obelisk
We could have passed on the High Dam, but the Philae Temple is a must-see if visiting Aswan.

Doing what: Private Tour: Abu Simbel Flight and Tour from Aswan
The organisation could not have been better but we were disappointed in Abu Simbel itself. It had lost its majesty and seemed to be part of a film set. Think of moving the Treasury at Petra to the top of the cliff and I think you'll see what we mean.

Doing what: Private Tour: Abu Simbel Flight and Tour from Aswan
Flying to Abu Simbel saved us so much time and also gives you a feeling for the enormity of the desert which makes up so much of Egypt. The bus would simply be too long if you did it in both directions.

Doing what: Private Tour: Abu Simbel Flight and Tour from Aswan
Another tour in Egypt I would give 5 stars to if I could. The temples are amazing and our guide knew all the tricks to be able to see them with a minimal amount of other people around. Standing at the base of the great statues is one of the most humbling experiences of my life.

Doing what: Private Tour: Abu Simbel Flight and Tour from Aswan
Abu Simbel was worth seeing. The trip by private air tour was very well organised although expensive. I expected to be sitting in the first class for this price. Furthermore it would be wise to ask your guests about their specific interest it might be slightly different than the egyptologist expects.

Doing what: Private Tour: Philae Temple, Aswan High Dam and Unfinished Obelisk
As a native to Aswan our guide loved showing us around the area. The Dam is just a dam but its pretty big and the history is interesting. The mind boggles at how anyone expected to move the unfinished obelisk and Philae Temple is one of the best temples in Egypt.
