We waited at the designated stop - right at the hop-on hop-off sign and saw the bus approach, then turn left at the corner before our stop. We caught a cab. If the route changes, that's understandable but providing some redirection at the stop would have helped.
This tour was a good introduction to Athens but next time I will take a walking tour as well to help learn the city .
This was a very useful tour for the first time visitor, as it provided orientation of the main city sights aboard the coach, as well as extensive visits to the Acropolis and the new Acropolis Museum. Our guide was very well-informed about all aspects of the tour, and provided fascinating detail during the visits to the Acropolis and the Museum.
The trip was very good. Its a very well balanced trip in which we get to see a lot and learn a lot in a short time.I booked the trip just based on reviews and I felt the experience was similar to the better reviews. The tour guide was very good and was taking a lot of effort and interest in telling the stories and myths regarding the artifacts.Very nice trip.
This is real value for money. You can use this bus and co-ordinate the other guided tours run by this organisation as you taxi service. The driver is a revelation in skill. The bus is comfortable, the commentary accurate and timely. Best of all is the staff on the bus. They are friendly, and helpful. I recommend this as a good starting point as a reference/preview to the other tours you have to take. I would suggest you take the full tour the 1st time and take notes of interesting places you want to visit. Then workout the times the bus arrives at a particular place of interest and use the hop on hop off the bus pass offers. Good value.
This tour could have been better. At the Olympic Stadium our guide didn't even get off the bus, just said you have 10 minutes to be back on the bus. At the Parliment we had 4 minutes, which wasn't enough time to take photos, or see the changing of the guard, no we were also told nothing about the tomb of the unknown soldier, and again our guide didn't even get off the bus. Than at the Acropolis Museum we only saw a couple of sections, and than told we have 15 minutes to look around. At the Parthenon our guide spent
maybe 15 minutes talking, than told us you have 20 minutes to look around than head for the bus. I think this tour would have been much better if it wasn't cut an hour shorter due to waiting around on the bus for an hour and a half for people that were late. When you have other paying customers, that pay for a half day
tour, and you delay that tour of twenty people because your waiting for two.... But still end the tour at the orginal end time, we are than jipped out of the service we paid for.
Ok, but could be much better. I needed special elevator assistance and she balked at it. I had to take the initiative just to get help.
Museums are tiring after awhile.
I really enjoyed this tour, the sites are amazing. Specially the Acropolis, you really can't miss it. It was very convenient because we were picked up at the hotel and taken to the main sites by coach. The entrance to the Acropolis was included, so we didn't have to queue to get the ticket. Really worth it, was a great experience!
This was one of the most amazing sites in the world and our guide was fantastic!! Could never have done this without our guide!!
