What could be more photo-friendly than the world’s classical capital? And what better way to tour Athens than with a local photographer as your guide.

The tour begins near Athens’ major archaeological sites, and takes you walking in the steps of Hadrian to see where he attended the inauguration of the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Wind your way past Roman ruins, mosques, temples and the homes of the Greek Gods of Olympus, and the 3000-year-old theaters that premiered the plays of Sophocles and Euripides and still host drama today.

While walking, pick up photography tips about lighting and composition, and see Athens from a local's perspective.

There are superb vantage points from the sacred Hill of Philopappou to photograph the Acropolis, and evening scenes in Plaka of magically lit restaurants scattered over the hillside.

This tour was a highlight of my visit because I saw unique parts of Athens I would not have seen otherwise and because I enjoyed the photography and videography expertise of Massimo.

Our guide was just great for the photography walking tour! I am an amateur photographer and take pictures just for fun. Our guide was patient and offered excellent guidance about framing pictures, use of lighting, and where to stand for the best shots. Occasionally he took pictures and then I could compare what he took with my photos. Then he offered suggestions on how to improve my photos. It was exactly what I needed. Our photo tour included beautiful scenery, interesting shots of the marketplace and perfect photo opportunities for capturing the best photos of ancient ruins. My husband accompanied me on the tour and enjoyed it just as much as I did.

A terrific tour that took us to special locations to capture excellent images of the Acropolis but also many other less common images of historical and modern sites. Good guidance on composition, use of light and perspective. Strenuous walking with hills and stairs.
