Set only three miles south of the Auckland city center, Mount Eden offers a view of the Auckland skyline unlike any other you’ll find in the city. This 650 ft. extinct volcano is the city’s highest natural vantage point, and it’s a few miles closer ...

This was an excellent way to tour Auckland. We ended up extending our pass for another day. It stopped at all the important sites and was cheaper than a taxi. The drivers were friendly and knowledgeable. When visiting Mt. Eden, do take the white van to the top. The HOHO driver said to take the van and the driver will share a lot of information about Mt. Eden and he did. The only regret is I wish they would operate longer during the day.

A great way to see the city - covered pretty much all the attractions I wanted to see. Favourite stops were Auckland Museum and Mt Eden. Would definitely recommend the 2 day option.

I did this tour twice - once in summer and once in winter. The Winter tour was a bit disappointing because it missed a large portion of the summer tour, including Mt Eden, which was one of my favourite things on the tour.

The only complaint I would have about the tour is that there is too long between pick ups as the run every hour. We stopped at Mt Eden which was worthwhile for the view howerver we were waiting 30 minutes before the next bus arrived. The Auckland Museum is well worth a visit. It is an excellent museum, we had a guided tour and saw a Maori cultural performance for $45 compared to $321 for a full day cultural tour. this is great if you are travelling on a budget.

A great way to get around and see Auckland. However, one of the stops said 'Fish Market' and all there was was wholesale fish market, retails fish shops and a couple of coffee shops. The shops and craft market where not there as stated on the brochure. The craft market in Victoria Street had closed some 6 months earlier. At our first stop 'Bastion Point Lookout' the timetable said the bus arrives to pick us up at 9.40 a.m. At 9.30a.m.I see the bus leave without us. The next bus arrives at 10.00 a. m. No problem if you have time, but if you have to be on the ship at a certain time, then shore time is limited. The connection for the satellite bus at the museum is great and gets us to Mt Eden to see a spectacular view of the city of Auckland. We also see the crater of an extinct volcano there.
