Cities, by their very nature, have a reputation for being expensive. Considering that Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand you might expect it requires a small fortune to enjoy yourself in the famous “City of Sails.” While Auckland definitely has its pricey areas, there are also enough free things to do in Auckland that even a traveler on the skimpiest of budgets can get outdoors and enjoy the city.
Take a walk along the waterfront
Any visitor to Auckland will know that the city is world-renowned for its sailboats, sailors, and picturesque waterfront.
