Australia possesses natural beauty that even ‘non-outdoorsy’ people can appreciate. As an island country, the coastline – either rugged and rocky or smooth and sandy – stretches for 22,292 miles (35,876 km). The overall size of Australia is just smaller than the 48 contiguous states of the USA with mountains, deserts and tropical rainforests scattered about.
