Australians may love their beer, but they also sure know how to make a great wine. Media and stereotypes about the Australian climate may give the impression to people overseas that not much can be grown in the land Down Under, or that it never gets cold in winter. I know the weather part is all relative, but the truth stands that winter can get pretty chilly, and there are regions of the country that have extremely fertile farmlands – some perfect for growing wine grapes. Australians produce around 750 million liters of wine each year, and Australia claims the title as the 4th largest exporter of wine in the entire world.
