Excellent tour in every way. Marc the Leder was totally professional from pick-up until drop off. Highly recommend. If in Avigion do it!
A wonderful tour largely due to an excellent tour guide - Carolyn. Highly recommend this tour to get a very full overview of the Provence area.
Excellent! The sights visited where just what we were looking for to "see Provence". Your guide was gracious and knowledgeable making the tour most pleasant.
Our guide was absolutely wonderful and the small bus had large windows so we could see very well. We would have liked more than 1 hour at the farmers market but all in all, it was a wonderful trip. The countryside is so beautiful.
We took the Provence in One Day trip in late April. It was absolutely perfect! The guide was great: friendly, knowledgeable -- and a good driver! The sights were breathtaking and we had an adequate amount of time at each.
Chose specifically because couldn't figure out how to get to les baux without wasting a lot of time via bus/train. Turned out to be a blessing because I got to see amazing villages I didn't know were there. If you have limited time in Provence, this is a good way to see a lot of stuff, don't want to think about how to arrange itinerary, and don't waste a lot of time with buses/trains. I think it would work out to same price if you try to visit all the same places via train and have lots less wasted time if you were to arrange yourself via train/buses. Guide was great!
Great tour! I was so happy that I booked this tour rather than the other all day Provence tour because seeing the Roman theater at Orange was the highlight of our trip for my husband. Our tour guide, Elizabeth, was terrific and very well informed about the area. Amazing how much we got to see and do in one day. On top of that, Elizabeth recommended a restaurant that we subsequently went to and enjoyed a fabulous meal thanks to her suggestion. I highly recommend this tour.
We were not able to visit Arles this day,but the guide took us to a olive farm which we loved. Just received my olive oil in the mail. All the sites we visited were great to see.We visited Arles on our own, two days later.Viator trips are all an excellent value.
Beautiful scenaries, but not enough time in each sightseeing spot, 45min max each. Suggested to allow more time for each spot.
We had a wonderful trip. Since we were traveling without a car, we were able to see things we otherwise would not have been able to get to. The guide was very knowledgable and pleasant. I would recommend this trip.
Since we weren't traveling by car this tour gave us a way to visit sites out in the countryside that we wouldn't have been able to otherwise. For that alone it was worth it. We would have liked more time at Les Baux (time to tour the castle and the town) and less at Gordes. Taking pictures from a distance at Gordes was enough. The time at Pont du Gard was fine. Our guide was pleasant although I think we expected more "guiding" through the towns.
It was nice. However, we did wish to see Nostradamas' house and were told "there's no time." But then when we got finished with Pont du Gard, we were told we were early and we had to now kill time. That was annoying. Instead we chose to go back to the hotel. I just wish the tour was a little better.
This review is for the "Grand Tour" of Provence. Sites visited included Orange, Chateauneuf de Pape, Roussilon, Les Baux, Gordes, and the Pont du Garde. I was pleasantly surprised by the tour. I had found it hard to believe that so many visits to widely separated areas could be accomplished in so short a time without extremely short stays and a "rushed" feeling. That was not the case. We stopped at all the scheduled places and had ample free time at each stop to wander around, see the sights, and enjoy ourselves. Our driver/guide was very nice and informative. I recommend this tour.
Viator contacted the provider of this tour for me to ask if we could do it as a shore excursion from a cruise ship. They agreed to pick us up at the ship, change the start and end times of the tour, and personalize the day's itinerary. Then we found out 24 hours before the tour was to begin that our ship would be docking at a different port due to weather. We were relieved to find that they would simply meet us at the new port. That was easy!
But the new port was an extra hour away and we had to back at the ship before 4:00, so our guide suggested that we go to Aix and Cassis since they were closer than the listed places. That worked out great, since we were much happier strolling around the towns instead of spending the time driving. She gave us an interesting walking tour of Aix and showed us a collection of restaurants from which we picked one that served an excellent lunch. Cassis was charming and picturesque.
We learned a lot about Provence from our guide, who spoke very good English and knew the area well. Although we did not see the places we originally expected, we appreciated the flexibility that gave us a good day in Provence despite the change in port.
