Doing what: 2-Day Uluru Sunset and Kata Tjuta Tour from Ayers Rock

Excellent all around - the hotel, the tour bus, the way we were looked after and seeing Uluru and the Olgas at both sunset and sunrise. It was a brilliant experience.

Leaving the bus, hearing the didgeridoo playing, and being handed a glass of champagne as we walked up to the site to see Uluru rising from the sand was wonderful, and it just kept getting better. It was a perfect evening.

Doing what: Uluru and Kata Tjuta Tour by Helicopter from Ayers Rock

This was the first thing that we did upon arrival in Uluru. The 30 minute flight that we took was a good overview of the area and truly helped us appreciate the size of Ayers Rock and the Olgas. We never would have appreciated the size of the Olgas, because you cannot drive around them as you can Ayers Rock. Since we were not about to violate the Aboriginal preference that people not climb to the top this trip provided us with the aerial views that would have been achieved with the climb. The pilot was personable, informed and most helpful, positioning the helicopter so that everyone could have an opportunity take pictures. This is a not to be missed experience.

Doing what: Uluru and Kata Tjuta Tour by Helicopter from Ayers Rock

We used the helicopter both in Uluru and Kings Canyon. Both trips were fantastic with very interesting commentaries by the pilots. To view from the air gives another perspective of these tremendous sites. A must for all travellers.

Pricey, but well worth the experience. They offer tasty food, and being under the stars made this a very enjoyable experience. Though we were just outside of the resort, we had nice sunset views of Uluru and Kata Tjuta.

Wonderful, very romantic. The sunset over Uluru was great but even better was seeing all the stars and finding out about them. Food was good too!

Well worth the cost! Stunning views of Uluru and Kata Tjuta which would be impossible in any other way. Well organised too.

A brilliant way to get a feel for the size of the area you're visiting - wizz around it in a helicopter! Great views of Uluru (Ayers Rock) and the Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) you wouldn't otherwise get to see. Great pilot and great fun all around! Do early morning for beautiful colours.

This was a fantastic night spent viewing the sunset over Uluru, gazing at the stars, and enjoying some excellent food. It was well worth the money: an amazing experience.

The Uluru night time observatory star gazing was out of this world, literally fantastic. The sunrise and aboriginal tour had mind blowing sights, culture, and people. The Sounds of Silence Tour was amazing, but you really have to see and listen for yourself.

My wife and I felt the experience was awesome - a word they use a lot in Australia. The view of Uluru from the air was a whole different ballgame, helping to put it more into perspective with the surrounding landscape. The pilot was very laid-back and informative, adding to our enjoyment of a fantastic experience. The only downside was in fact coming down: we just wanted to carry on flying. Even if you have anxieties, just do it.

We didn't know quite what to expect, and the evening turned out to be even better than we anticipated. After enjoying a superb sunset on Uluru, we moved to the restaurant site, which, being set in the desert, was a little surreal. The whole event was excellent; the food was very good indeed considering the circumstances, and the didgeridoo player was extremely skilled and had many an interesting and amusing tale to tell. Finally, the astronomer, who was a real entertainer as well as very informative, continued to keep us entertained even when the clouds rolled in towards the end of the evening. The tables of eight offered the opportunity to learn about other people's experiences, and although the night became quite cool, the heaters and the log fire provided ample warmth. The staff were welcoming and efficient, and even the chef had a good line in patter. All in all, a truly memorable evening. I would recommend it.
