Bali is well known as an adult wonderland for tourists seeking fun in the sun. Happily, this Indonesian island is also a great destination for travelers with children as well. While it is obviously advisable to research the calendar of activities scheduled in the specific areas you’d like to visit (as well as the seasonal weather patterns), there are plenty of destinations that the whole family will enjoy. The following are among the most popular and dependable family-oriented destinations in Bali.

1). Waterbom Bali. Located in beautiful Kuta, this extraordinary water park has something for all ages. Amid the carefully landscaped gardens is a network of leisure pools (including a man-made river that visitors can drift down on tube rafts, shaded by tropical foliage), swim-up bars, and nine other massive water slides and rides (many of which, though quite safe, are not for the faint of heart).

2). Sacred Monkey Park. Known as the Ubud Monkey House and/or the Enchanted Monkey House, this is one nature reserve and temple complex at which children will positively marvel. The park presents a singular opportunity for visitors interested in an interactive experience with the community of 300 hundred crab-eating macaque monkeys who reside within its walls. If you don’t want to be swarmed by greedy primates (granted, these are primates renowned for their charm), take care to conceal any bananas you might purchase to tempt them with, as the monkeys are famous for climbing visitors’ legs and prying into bags and packages. Keep an eye on your little ones.
