How to Get to Barcelona
Barcelona’s cruise terminals are clustered in historic Port Vell at the foot of Las Ramblas, Barcelona’s most famous thoroughfare. It’s a 10 to 30-minute walk to Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter. Most visitors catch a shuttle bus to the iconic Christopher Columbus statue, a minute’s stroll from Las Ramblas. A quick taxi ride to the Gothic Quarter takes only 10 minutes from the port.
One Day in Barcelona
It’s de rigueur to take a stroll along tree-lined Las Ramblas, with its flower stalls and singing birds. Drop into Barcelona’s historic market for tapas and champagne, then follow winding streets through the Gothic Quarter to the centuries-old cathedral. Another must-do is the Picasso Museum, with one of the world’s best collections of the Cubist master’s early works.
To get the most out of your time in this world-famous city, a Private Sightseeing Tour will show you the sights in half a day, including the Sagrada Familia and other signature architecture by Antoni Gaudi. On a Hop-on Hop-off Day Tour you can get around at your own pace, or even cycle around the city on a Bike Tour. To see further afield, join a Day Trip to the Salvador Dali museum at Figueres, see the Black Madonna at Montserrat or laze away the day on the Costa Brava beaches.
Port Information
Barcelona is a very popular Mediterranean port, visited by liners operated by Princess, Carnival, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean and Costa. Locals speak Catalan, rather than Spanish, and some English is understood. The currency is the euro, available from banks and ATMs throughout the city.

Doing what: Small-Group Mediterranean Sea Sailing Trip from Barcelona
Robert was absolutely wonderful! Since it is winter and the city is not quite as busy, our sailing trip ended up being private. The seas were a bit choppy due to a windy and cold afternoon. We had great confidence and trust in Roberts sailing abilities.
