It was excellent! Especially the tasting. Nice to try other types of cava and compare flavours. Sitges was beautiful!
This was such a great tour! Visiting the wine cellar was a fun experience, something I have never done. One glass of cava is included but you can order more for a reasonable price. Sitges is breathtaking, you need to stay longer! Stayed an extra few hours w my friend and took the train back to Barce
Beautiful Montserrat. We have been there before, but never went up to the top of the mountain, never experienced the cable car or the train. This time, we tried everything. We love it. Beautiful pieces of art on those mountains. My camera didn't stop clicking all over. I like the guide's explanation, and then we were free to go around, visited the Black Madonna, went up to the top of the mountain, had lunch, and came back down to the museum. The boys choir singing was terrific. That was something I didn't want to miss. The morning tour to Colonia Guell was also great. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
- Excellent Guide. He was a amazing 10/10
- The sites were interesting and worth seeing.
- If you take this tour during the winter, it may be slightly too much time for the sights and beach.
Great tour--guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Going to Montserrat was the highlight (and it was great to have a few hours to tour on our own). Highly recommended!
Thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Freixenet Wine Cellar, Excellent, enthusiastic guide and delicious cava!
My wife and I absolutely loved the company of our guides Li Ping and Julia. We did this tour early Nov/13 and made most of a lovely day in Barcelona with this 8 hr day-trip. Don't forget to ask Julia for some eat-out recommendations in Barcelona...Love Catalonia!
We really enjoyed our tour to Freixenet and Sitges. The Freixenet tour was excellent -- we really enjoyed our tour and the tour guide there was terrific.
The only thing that bothered us is the voucher for the tour told us to be at the central office for 8:45am and we arrived at 8:40am and the tour guide and rest of the 4 people on the tour were already departing without us!! We saw the SMALL group departing and we had to rush into the office and have them called back. We didn't understand this as we weren't late and the group was so small it seemed really strange. I recommend people show up really early and just sit in the lobby to ensure this doesn't happen to you! We found it a little off-putting for the rest of the tour.
What a lovely way to spend a day away from Barcelona! Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and the bus was clean and enjoyable. The tour is short and sweet ending with a wonderful glass of cava. Delish! Sitges was absolutely the highlight. A beautiful seaside town with old winding cobblestone streets and a real beach charm. Take this tour at the beginning of the trip because you will most likely want to find your way back to Sitges to spend more time!
Montserrat is beautiful, worth it. Gaudi was a genius.
Great trip. Tour guide Sonya was wonderful.
Doing what: 4-Day Best of Catalonia Tour from Barcelona
Tour guide was very good, and we had extra time to go visit whatever caught out interest. The tour guide was also very helpful inpointing us to what additional stops/sites might be the most interesting so that we were able to make the most out of the time that we had.
Loved the wine.
I did not give it 5 stars as I was not well that day and could not enjoy the experience fully. Regardless, this is a day trip worth doing if you are staying in Barcelona. The bus trip was long out and back into Barcelona due to it being a holiday week (Festival de la Mercé) and coming back during rush hour made it worse, yet it was worth it. The aqueduct is a great starting place for the day! You can go up a hill to stand on it. Onew in my group even ran to the middle of it and back! Very accessible for a Roman Empire remnant.
After visiting the aqueduct we went to Tarragona. The city has several places to stop, among them the circus and the forum. Those are 3.50 euros to enter each. We walked the city around midday, stopping in the forum and enjoying the view of the Mediterranean under a very hot sun (we were "lucky" enough to still have warm weather during the end of September: high 70's F). Once we were done, we were driven to Sitges. The tour guide recommended a place to eat paella near the beach called Santa María. I personally did not eat that day, but was told by the rest of the group that it was good! After lunch, we finished our day at the beach across the street from the restaurant. All I can say is WOW! What a view! You have to pay to rent a chair and umbrella if you need it, but it was worth it.
In terms of the group, we were the youngest ones in the bus group of 22 (4 of us together). All 4 of us know English and Spanish, so it was easy to get around without the guide. Our guide was Belén. She was awesome! She knows a lot about the cities and pointed out good historic points as well as gave good recommendations (restaurant, places to see, etc.). She was very attentive and gave us good background information on each city, including the region (Cataluña) and their differences with the rest of Spain. Overall a great trip that I would recommend to anyone. Be ready to walk a lot and go up hills or stairs to see great views. If not, go to the beach!
Nice daytrip/ tour.
