Doing what: Girona and Costa Brava Small Group Day Trip from Barcelona

Originally we had booked the Girona/Costa Brava Tour, which was not available on the 20th, so the company offered us to join the Tarragona/Sitges Tour. We didn't regret it at all because Tarragona and Sitges are definitely worth a visit. Ana, our friendly guide, made it a very pleasant experience and we are always willing to come back, maybe this time to Girona and the Costa Brava.

Amazing tour. Tour guide very informative and attentive. We couldn't ask for more! We had a beautiful, sunny day for January with no crowds to hassle with, so the cities were our own! Lovely scenery for photos. Girona was so full of history. We ate a delicious fish lunch in Costa Brava overlooking the water. Take this tour, you'll love it!!!

This was definitely a great trip from Barcelona. Our guide, Fabian, was amazing! He spent the entire trip talking with our small group of 8. He is very knowledgeable and very personable. Visiting Girona was a wonderful addition to our stay in Barcelona and the stopover in Costa Brava fabulous!

What a day! We stayed in Barcelona for 4 days and wanted to do something outside of the city. There didnt seem to be a whole lot of options...so we booked this excursion hesitantly, not knowing how good it would be. Girona and Pals were amazing towns with a lot of Medieval history - which I love. Costa Brava was a beautiful resort beach town....very scenic , beautiful ocean, very similar to Greek Islands we visited earlier in our vacation. We were pleasantly surprised with this tour and would highly recommend it!

Our small group tour was great. The medieval villages were not only beautiful but our guide Nikko brought the history and legends alive. The last stop on the Costa Brava was fabulous. We ate paella overlooking the beach and Meditteranean -incredible.

While researching Girona and Costa Brava I stumbled across the tour operator and it was exactly what I was seeking. I didn't fully realize that they focuses on small tours. That would explain the need to check in the day before with them to confirm the logistics. This was one of the best tours I have taken and it really made my last day in Europe delightful. Our host was very knowledgeable and so personable with a sunny disposition that it seemed you were being led by an old friend. We first started with a tour of Girona as he pointed out the more noteworthy sites and then we were given the option of exploring on our own for a good 90 minutes, probably more. Moving on to the photogenic small hill town of Pals, he pointed out such unusual sights as the Placebo Castle on an distant hilltop and to a reconfigured vending machine in a very small, very old church that dispensed candles, both of which were so unexpected. Finally, we arrived on the coast, which turned out to be my favorite part of the trip. Normally, when a tour mentions there is time to take a dip in the sea, it usually means a very quick dip. Not here was we had about 3 hours to explore. As we walked along the coastal path of Calella de Palafrugell, we came upon one small beach after another with restaurants surrounded by low lying holiday villas. The water temp. in early June was cool but delightful and it was hard to get out. If left to my own devices, I would have found Girona but not Pals or this part of Costa Brava and that was worth the very reasonable price of admission alone.

This was a wonderful tour! Veronica was an excellent tour guide and very accommodating. The van was comfortable and clean. We had time on our own to explore the cathedral at Girona, some wonderful shops in Pals, and to enjoy a great meal seaside on the Costa Brava. Tour meeting spot hard to find, though.

Our guide was fabulous and made an unscheduled stop so we could see the palace Dali built for his Gala. The Costa Brava is simply beautiful. The water is a very clear blue/green and warm enough for swimming. We didn't have snorkeling masks but bought them at a shop when we stopped at the beach. There were lots of fish to see very close to shore. A black bird, possibly a corcoran, swam underwater right past me. How often does anyone see that? Girona was a well-preserved medieval town which we enjoyed tremendously. If you can take only one excursion, this day trip is the one you should not miss.

Interesting, unbelievable moments, spectacular views of "country side" outside of Figueres and Costa Brava. Our Guide Vanja was a nice young woman, but very weak guide, she didn't do any real guide, all of us who were in same minivan called her our "driver", and she was just a driver--it seemed that all of us knew more about our journey that our guide. She didn't give us enough time to explore Theater-Museum Dali either. Is this itinerary worth? Yes, from the point of an opportunity to see Theather-Museum and especially country sidea nd Dali's home. Please, be ready, that the price for this trip doesn't include tickets to both Dali's Museum and House!!! We had to pay additional 11 euro/person and 10 euro/person. So it turned into an expensive trip.

This trip to Girona and Costa Brava was by far my best travel experience to date. I highly recommend this trip if you are looking for a small, private tour with a laid back energy. The sights were amazing and our tour guide, Ana, was absolutely perfect. Her knowledge of history is superb and she has a great sense of humor. I never go on tours when I travel, but the friend I was with convinced me to try this one and I will definitely use them again.

This day trip was over the top. Well planned and executed by the travel company and a delightful experience. After a 2 hour visit to the Dali Museum we toured Costa Brava to experience more of Dali and visited his home in Port Ligat. This was a great day trip.

Another amazing trip! Our guide, Adrien, was awesome!! He gave us tons of info and plenty of time to ourselves to explore. He also kept all of us talking and engaged during the ride there. Couldn't ask for a better guy. Girona was a very unique and quaint town, we enjoyed exploring there. Costa Brava was stunning! We ate at an outdoor cafe there (had a lot of umbrellas) overlooking the water. My husband and I had a seafood lunch with a small pitcher of sangria. Afterward, we laid on the beach until it was time to go. Wonderful trip!!

Girona and Costa Brava was an excellent day tour from Barcelona. Girona is a very beautiful city (the old part where you will tour) and the Cathedral is beautiful. We also went to a charmingly beautiful small town called Pals and then a stunningly beautiful coastal town on the Mediterranean called Calella de Palafrugell. Our guide was wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire day. The tours are nice because the groups are small so it is a very enjoyable and intimate tour.
