We saw loads of sights and places that we wouldn't have gone to on our own or had the time to go to if we hadn't been on the bike tour and had to find our own way there. The guide was brilliant, provided just enough historical information without it becoming too dull or tedious, he also put it in to his own words so it was easy to understand and not like listening to a lecturer. The tourist sights chosen for the tour were a perfect mixture, some famous places like Gaudi's masterpiece sagrada familia, mixed in with places in the old town and the beach. Lunch at the beach was lovely and we were offered a really good deal. The four hour tour was a perfect amount of time and the group of 15 was just the right size too. It was good fun riding a bike through the city too. The whole thing was great value and i'd definitely recommend it to others.
Doing what: Barcelona Half-Day Bike Tour
This tour was amazing! At first we had a little bit of trouble finding Julia Travels, the company organizing the tour. However, we asked people who worked at Sagrada Familia and they easily directed us to where Julia Travels is located. (It is behind the park that is in front of Sagrada Familia. Go through the park and you will see it on the other side). Our tour guide was TERRIFIC! He was very knowledgeable about the church, its history, design, and future. He was very knowledgeable about Gaudi as well and thoroughly answered any questions that anyone had. The tour guide walks around the perimeters and inside of the church, explaining every little detail. He speaks with a microphone and the tourists each have a pair of headsets so as to hear him well. The Sagrada Familia is definitely a must see in Barcelona!! This tour was exceptional and very informative. Highly recommend!
Doing what: Skip the Line: Barcelona Sagrada Familia Tour
Veronica was our tour guide. When I go back I will ask for her again. She was very knowledgeable and kept the tour interesting. She was able to answer all my questions and you could see she loved Barcelona. She never rushed us. 'Skip the Line' was nice because the lines are very long, maybe 1 or 2 hours and you get to drive up and walk in saving the time for view/touring rather than waiting. All of the Gaudi works are interesting, especially the Sagrada Familia.
Long tiring day, but the only way to see Barcelona and Montserrat in one day. Knowledgeable guide. Spent plenty of time at Montserrat and saw several Gaudi works. I would recommend it, but be prepared to be exhausted by the end of the day. Moderate activity that anyone in reasonable condition can handle.
Excellent, excellent, excellent. Well worth the money honey! Brilliant architecture, commentary and pace of tour. Our guide was sensitive to the mobility needs of her group and knowledgeable in her anecdotes that personalised this Catalan experience. Picasso was a genius, Gaudi was a genius and our guide IS a genius!!! Thank you Viator.
It was more beautiful that what I was expected. Amazing and super interesting. Visiting this masterpiece in the night, in a small group, was perfect. Our guide explained about the history of this place and Gaudi works. The top of the building is a MUST SEE. Highly recommended.
Absolutely a really nice tour ! Our guide was very informative, knew her history and has lived in Barcelona for about ten years. Monteserrat and La Sagrada are a must see in our opinion while in Barcelona. One can only be in awe of Gaudis masterpiece. The inside is stunning and skipping the line is the way to go. Plenty of time to enjoy both on a half day tour. Montserrat setting is beautiful. Enjoyed our time at both !
Take this tour! Otherwise, the line for the Sagrada Familia goes on and on and you can stand in the sun waiting for hours. The whimsical architecture is amazing and can't be missed. The tour also included an excellent overview of beautiful Barcelona with a number of stops to walk around special sites. We stopped at MontJuic for a scenic view of Barcelona, the old city with its narrow streets and palaces tucked away with plazas also tucked away, and a nice stop (on the full day tour) at Guell Park, with a chance to spend time looking at other Gaudi houses and related art. It was a really fun day and ended with the remarkable tour inside La Pedrera, a condo building designed by Gaudi.
Great tour! This is truly an all day tour seeing all the major Gaudi sites of Barcelona. The tour guide, Feliciano was excellent providing much need context to the history of Barcelona and Gaudi.
This was a really great tour, although we mistakenly thought we were getting more than we did. The tour included entrance to the Cathedral, but we could not go to all areas without another ticket. That was the only disappointment.
However, our guide was very informed and well-versed in the history of Barcelona, and her English was impeccable. On this tour, we got to go for a snack at the Market where we sampled some of the fresh Cataluyan food and drink. We learned a lot about the city and especially the influence of the architect/artist Gaudi. He was a fascinating genius, and through the expertise of our guide, we got a small glimpse into his incredibly creative mind. This was a great experience and one we would recommend if you keep your expectations within reason. On this tour, you will get to experience a panoramic view of the culture, art, artists, and history of Barcelona, so that if you have an extra day, you can go back for a more in-depth tour of some of the sights pointed out on your tour. I highly recommend it!
This was a wonderful small group tour that gave us ample time to take a close look at every room in the apartments, and then ended with a tour of the attic and the incredible night scape of Gaudi's roof scape that in the night lights appeared to be surreal animals.
A wonderful day's outing. The mountain views were amazing. Montserrat (serrated mountain) gave Gaudi his idea for the design of La Sagrada Familia. We had a most excellent lunch at outdoor tables under the shade of some fig trees, and also had time to visit market stalls selling local Catalan foods. A highlight was a tiny medieval church where exorcisms were once performed. The winery visit was very interesting, and there were various types of wine offered for tasting.
After arriving from Sitges, we boarded the bus at 10.00am and by 3.30pm we had been inside the Sagrada (get e-tickets or else queue for 2 hours) and lunched in Parc Gruell having been inside Gaudi's house in the Parc, and walked around the grounds. We disembarked finally at the Gothic quarter where we were serenaded and ate tapas in a beautiful square. Walked to and through Las Ramblas to the station and back to Sitges for 7pm. Great day out ENABLED BY THE AMAZING BUS TOUR and commentary. Got great photos too! Thanks, your staff were helpful and friendly.
What a great way to learn about Gaudi and be exposed to his craziness! The guide was great, the champagne at the end was enjoyable, and it was a perfect evening!
My wife and I spent nearly three hours in this park which is well worth seeing. Although it was a hot day we thoroughly enjoyed walking through Gaudi's Park Quell with the guide who was very knowledgable You cannot gain a good understanding of Gaudi unless you see Park Quell with someone who knows the history..
