Doing what: Bay Of Islands Overnight Cruise

My rating in no way reflects the cruise itself. The cruise was lovely and the bay of islands were one of the most beautiful places. But this is where the negatives start, the cruise is not even one day long, it starts at 1pm and ends at 10am. And also if you took the auckland coach option on the cruise they expect you to spend 6 hours from 10am to 4:30pm at the bus station because they only have a evening bus back. But if you do want to travel back to auckland But yes i was really disappointed by the fact that the cruise was literally only 20 hours for such a beautiful location and ship.

Unfortunately, it was raining both days so we didn't get off the boat to kayak, snorkel or visit an island as the brochure indicated. It was very rough getting out to islands but we settled down for night and one of the lovely stewards got the Trivial pursuit out. It was good fun in end with our fellow passengers. I must say that the crewe were fabulous, food was great but weather let us all down.

Great trip. 90 mile beach was great and the sand-boarding on the sand dunes was really good fun.
Cape Reinga is also a beautiful place

Excellent! I couldn't have had more fun. One of the most memorable times of my trip. 5 out of 5.

This was a great trip.
The Ipipiri is a very comfortable craft, with nice beds in the cabins and several areas on the decks for relaxing and enjoying the view.
The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful and the food was good too.
We enjoyed cruising in the islands and did various water activities, like kayaking and snorkelling and encountered a playful pod of dolphins off the bow.
The coach to and from Paihia was comfortable so we were not tired.
Very relaxing, I recommend it.

Amazing time! My husband and I had wonderful weather whilst on this cruise, it was a perfect added bonus to our itinerary, we met some lovely people and the crew were fantastic. The captain was very friendly and informal and made everyone feel welcome. Highly recommended! Cabins are also just right and equipped to a high standard.

This was an amazing trip! My husband and I went on this overnight cruise and recommend it very highly. The only thing we didn't get to see was the Hole in the Rock. We booked another quick trip out to see it, which helped us to realize the amazing deal we got on this overnight trip. So well worth it! It was one of the highlights of our NZ trip! I would absolutely recommend this!

Crew: FANTASTIC, Cruise: Brilliant. Lunch: Perfect. Value: Exceptional, It was such a beautiful, romantic day, I proposed on the Bow of the Scooner. The highlight of our 2 weeks in New Zealand by far. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Doing what: Bay Of Islands Overnight Cruise

This was by far one of the nicest trips we've taken. The views were outstanding and the crew were so friendly. I would recommend this trip for everyone!

Our favorite expierence of the vacation. We hoisted the sails, steered the ship, stood out on the bow sprit, climbed the rigging and stood on the crosstree high above the ship, swung out on a rope hanging from the spar and dropped into the bay where we were anchored and it was a life time dream come true.

All in all a good tour, but I would train drivers to provide more historical and environmental information instead of many personal stories and serve more local produce (different types of fish) and real coffee for lunch instead of fish in lots of batter with many cold salads and instant coffee.

Fantastic!!
Driver was Barry-amazing and very funny

A great trip! Hughie, our driver and guide was superb - very knowledgeable and combined with a great sense of humour this made for a most enjoyable day. Thanks again Hughie!

Doing what: Bay Of Islands Overnight Cruise

What a trip...This is worth every cent. The bay of islands is beautiful. The boat was fantastic. The crew ,food and the whole experience they gave us was magical. We were picked up from our hotel in Auckland and taken on a beautiful 3-4 hour scenic tour through the mountains to Pahia and then embarked on the boat. After traveling through to various islands we canoed to a magical beach and snorkeled for a few hours. Upon returning to the boat a magical afternoon snack was waiting. That evening we traveled further within the bay of islands and a food buffet was set for us all. The cabins are fantastic with huge king beds and cater for everything. The following morning a buffet breakfast was served and we found a huge pod of dolphins and followed them for around an hour. After more scenic island travel we arrived back at Pahia and had the afternoon to ourselves. A HINT..When you do get to Pahia take a cab or tuk tuk to the treaty grounds, it is superb and beautiful. We then took the boat across to Russell and spent the afternoon wandering and relaxing...great place to eat and look. HINT..Check out the old cemetery..After returning from Russell we loaded ourselves back on the bus for our scenic return trip to Auckland. This has to be the best value for money trip around. You are picked up from your hotel and delivered back to your hotel included in the total price. We were gone from 6:45 Thursday morning and arrived back to our hotel Friday night at 8:30. The staff and food and the whole experience is the best I have ever had. All for a cost of $254.

Doing what: Bay Of Islands Overnight Cruise

Crew were very nice, food was great. However, it seemed like the itinerary was shortened, and none of the activities that were scheduled on the second day took place. Overall, I had a great time, just wish there were more things to do. This trip is wonderful if you want to relax and enjoy the views of the Bay of Islands. The captain takes you around, and you have the option to do some kayaking or walking on a beach on the first day. Afterwards, it's all time spent on the boat. Great experience if you have someone special to spend time with together.
