on time/early
Absolutely engaging full day-guide explained what we needed to get from tour-3 important points - Old Beijing, New Beijing, Axion
He chatted the entire tour- very informative and a joy as we went thru all the sights including ricksaw, Drum Tower, Great Wall
highly recommend but w/an engaging and delightful guide as JASON

My wife and I found this full day tour to be very enjoyable, made all the better by our tour guide, Michael, who willingly shared his knowledge but left us to do our 'own thing' at the Great Wall. Surprisingly, and without consultation with us, we were taken to the Juyongguan Pass section of the Great Wall. The justification given was that it would be less crowded than Badaling Section we had booked to see ( and we accepted this as reasonable).

Great trip and great guide great value.Excellent chinese style lunch as well.Well worth doing the gondola as there is still a few steps and you can do as much of the wall as you want

Guide was excellent and knowledgeable. Wall was just wonderful - we only had option of going up and down by cable car as the drive to this part of the wall takes a couple of hours. Lunch was at a local restaurant - plenty of food and good.

Great tour at an unbeatable price! I'm so glad we chose this option. It was our first time in China and this was a great introduction for us. It covered all the basics - Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, Summer Palace and Forbidden City. It was the perfect mix between the must-see "tourist" attractions and cultural immersion we would not have been able to do on our own. Great sights, friendly people and amazing country!

The guide -another Michael- was quite nice. It was a VIP-Tour ;) Only me, the driver and Michael! First we visited the Tiananmen-Square, then the forbidden city. He arranged it very interesting. Next stop was a silk-factory. Also very interesting and they didn´t force you to buy something. Then lunch - combined with a jade-factory in the middle of nowhere! It was awful!!! I have been left alone with the most horrible food I ever had. I felt like caged in this factory! After 15 minutes I left the room with the workers through a servants` exit. Then I had to wait 15 minutes for the pick up through my guide, HORRIBLE - never would do this again. After this we went to a different place of the wall (he told me in the car - Badaling would be crowded!). In Juyongguan I climbed the wall and it was worth whole day suffering ;)! To come to a conclusion: Be sure not to visit the Jade factory and all will be fine!

Excellent guide Thomas and truly memorable day. We went early and had this part of the wall to ourselves - glorious! We did the most strenuous climb; often up a 45 degree angle of steep steps. I felt so grateful we took it easy and weather was good with no wet steps. Views were tremendous- worth every aching muscle the next day!

Guide was so great and talkative. Love it.
Not sure which part of the wall we visited, but it was spectacular!

Our guide Cherry was brilliant. This part of the Wall was very busy. We have previously visited the Mutianyu section which was quieter. This section was also very steep in parts-but still worth visiting. Ming Tombs were interesting. The history of the tombs alone is worth travelling out there. The tour included a visit to a Cloisonne factory although we werent going to visit this but go to a Jade factory instead but luckily we were the only 2 on this tour so we did both. We did have to mention that the Cloisonne factory was part of the tour. Can recommend the Cloisonne giftware. It is beautifully made vibrant colours but expensive. Also the Jade is spectacular and also expensive. Bought Cloisonne because we felt better able to pack in our suitcase and not break. Had lunch included at the Jade factory - don't bother - it was terrible. Watermelon was the only edible dish on offer. But don't let that minor detail discourage this tour.

the great wall was amazing and it was made so easy picked up and returned to the hotel the whole tour highly recommended thankyou again we love viator and will continue to use viator

We were very fortunate because our group tour turned out to be a private tour (we were the only two people scheduled for that day). The tour guide was excellent and he helped us plan our itinerary for the rest of our stay in Beijing. The Great Wall was amazing and the Chinese lunch was delicious. We were very pleased with the experience!

Trip was great! There was only me a another 2 couples on the tour. I met the group at the listed location and was about 1 1/2 hours to get to the Wall. This section of the Great Wall was incredible with spectacular views. You do need to be physically fit since there is a lot of walking and many sections are steep. There is a chair lift (extra costs) if you don't want to do the initial 800 steps just to get onto the wall. You also are taken on the unrestored section of the wall, which was very unexpected and such a cool experience. The local lunch and the foot massage capped off a great day. Highly recommend this tour.

enjoyed but it was not a full day tour we were back by 2.30pm. Longer to walk the wall would have been good.

I ended up being the only person on this tour. My guide / driver Thomas was SUPERB. He was on time, friendly, flexible, and knowledgeable. This section of the wall was scenic and uncrowded. You take a chair lift up, and take a luge down (optional - it was a blast) Lunch was delicious, the tea ceremony tolerable, and the drive-byes of the Olympic stadium / cube / etc interesting. A big thumbs up!

Doing what: Great Wall of China Small Group Day Trip from Beijing

We started early but had the Great Wall all by ourselves before the tourist arrived.

Our tour guide was very attentive and spoke excellent English.

The itinerary was well thought of and organized. We strongly recommended this tour.
