How to Spend One Day in Dubrovnik

By Diana Edelman, USA, February 2013

No reviews, be the first!

Heaven. That is the regular comparison Dubrovnik garners from visitors to this Adriatic seaside town. Located on the southern coast of Croatia, Dubrovnik’s orange and red historic buildings make it easy to believe in fairytales. One day isn’t enough in this magical town. But, if that’s all you’ve got, there are a few things to include on your “to do” list.

To begin, head into the main square of the old, walled city and take a walking tour of Dubrovnik. Stop by Onofrio’s Fountain to fill your water bottle (the  fresh water comes from a nearby spring), then visit cultural spots like the Franciscan Monastery, Sponza Palace, City Bell Tower and more. No visit to the city is complete without stopping in the Cathedral of the Assumption, which was built in the 18th century.
