To experience the pomp and majesty of the Hohenzollern Dynasty, pay a visit to Charlottenburg Palace (or Schloss Charlottenburg), Berlin’s largest palace.
Built in the 17th and 18th centuries, the palace combines rococo and baroque decor and architecture, and is surrounded by landscaped gardens in the manner of Versailles.
Visitors can tour the baroque rooms of the Old Palace, and the rococo apartments of Frederick the Great in the New Wing. German porcelain is displayed in the Belvedere building, and the marble tombs of famous Hohenzollerns lie in the mausoleum.
The treed grounds are ideal for leisurely strolls, and the restored Orangery now operates as a cafe.
The whole occasion at the Charlottenburg dinner and concert was truly delightful. Both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Continue Reading »"An Evening at the Charlottenburg palace Dinner and Concert" definitely was 5 star. The setting and performances both in the dining and music halls were excellent . The servers were especially pleasant. Plus, the affair was well run, with very little dead time
between dinner and the concert. If I had to make any complaint, it would be that the food, though quite good, was not up to the level of the rest of the activities. I would heartily recommend this tour to anyone visiting Berlin.
Our visit to the charlottenburg palace was an experience we very much enjoyed, it was a surprise for my husbands birthday and felt that although it wasnt cheap it was well worth it.
Firstly though I would suggest that you make the most of your palace tour by arriving early so that you have at least 2 hours to do the self guided tour easily before arriving at the Orangery for your meal.
We felt the waiting time for your meal was a little to long as the staff were concentrating on selling drinks. (I asked for a glass of tap water)before before ordering a drink and having my meal and was told they did not have any tap water and I would have to buy a bottle of water, yet later in the evening I seen a jug of water on the bar and on asking found this was drinking water and was offered a glass. I wasnt very happy about this as they told me a deliberate lie so I would buy water.
My husband and I feel that we paid a reasonable price for a lovely meal and a wonderful concert afterwards and would recommend anyone to go, just make sure you get tap water if thats what you want.

The only real thing I would criticise is that there wasnt any real atmosphere in the dining area, there should have been some pleasant music playing.
