Viator.com bombarded me with so many e-mails after I booked the trip that I missed the e-mail saying they could not accommodate me. Two days after I booked the flight they e-mailed me saying the time I selected was unavailable. Two days! By that time I did not have web access. My son and I drove two + hours only to find out that we had to wait over four hours for our flight.

The flight was worth it and the company we book was very nice, but to waste four hours is unacceptable. When the tour company contacted Viator about this, they said nothing could be done. Apparently from the tour company this has happened more than once.

This was a truly spectacular flight!! I have driven around the Big Island several times and been to the Volcano National Park on several occasions, but to see the island from the air was awesome. It was great to actually get to see the lava flowing. This is a must for your trip.

Taj was easily the most knowledgeable tour guide I have ever toured with. Anyone looking for an educational experience should definitely take this tour! My only complaint is that others on the tour were not very enthusiastic about learning about the native species of plant and wildlife and really slowed the tour down. Please, if you are just looking to see lava and craters, do the rest of the tour a favor and rent a car to do it yourself.

This was by far the most amazing experience our group ( 6 of us) has ever had. I cannot tell you how much our Guide Justin made this a positive, informative,humerous,comfortable, amazing,we can go on and on. What a class act the company Forest and Trail are. The Volcanoes speak for themselves ! The guide and company made the difference. I love the small group total of 14 pp. it allowed a personal touch to the trip and even some flexibility with our time. I only wish I could get my pictures loaded to post ! I believe that using Aviator for your Trips is the only way to go. They must pick only the best outfits to work with. We also used them for our Twighlight Observatory trip to Mauna Kai Summit, and the same company Forest and Trail same results. professional Informed. I would not use anyone else and highly recommend them to anyone !!!

From check-in to return one could not find a more helpful, considerate, knowledgeable and memorable experience then what Hawaii Forest and Trails provided. Our guide was personable, the food was great, and the memories from our 12 hour tour will last a life time. This tour offered by Hawaii Forest and Trails is differently will worth it!

The tour was fantastic. We were looking for a highly rated tour that left from the Kona side of the island. We wanted to experience the volcanoes and lava glow at night, without having to drive back in the dark. This one was excellent, it exceeded my expectations. Our tour guide Rob D. was fantastic! He was knowledgable, professional, and friendly. The best part is that the trip from Kona was broken up nicely by a stop at a coffee farm for a very interesting tour, then a stop at a black sand beach, and finally a stop at an authentic Hawaiin bakery. Before you knew it, we were at Volcanoe National Park. Along the way (both there and back) Rob made our trip extremely interesting by sharing a lot of local knowledge, stories of Hawaiin folklore, and nuggets of rich island history. Overall, we were extremely satisfied at our decision to take the tour instead of driving to the other side of the island. We considered this money well spent!

Great trip, Taj did a great job overall especially driving is some bad weather conditions, on the Lava Tube visit, explaining the different plant life and climate zones on Kilauea along with the myths and legends on the Gods of the Volcanoes!

Our lady pilot explained everything very well and made sure everyone had a chance to see the lava flow and waterfalls from both sides of the helicopter. She even went by the cruise ship so that we could get some aerial shots of it.
A great experience!

Katie was outstanding on this tour. Imparted a great deal of information to us and kew a lot of the history of Hawaii which really enhanced the trip.

Even though it was raining on the day we went on the tour, it was great. We even got to see the glow of the lava flow.

Anyone looking to see actual lava flowing would probably be better off choosing a helicopter or boat tour that shows you the flow from the ocean side, as this is generally the only way you'd see it.

Our guide was really fun, knowledgable and made the day for us.

Excellent tour of volcano national park. Great way to see parts of it with a small group and excellent guide and support staff. Good equipment all around. Was rained on most of the time but it did not deter us.
