An amazing trip. Saw TONS of fish while snorkeling at the shipwreck, tried sandboarding for the first time, and had a good lunch at a camp on the island. I definitely recommend it for anyone!
Great day out of city filled with sand tobogganing, swimming in ocean and lake with a little sightseeing. Day flew by and was rushed at times. Would highly suggest a two day trip to fully enjoy the island. If you only have time for a day, hold on for a bumpy, yet beautiful day driving on beaches and sand tracks.
Paradise! Fabulous day out and enjoyed every minute! Too bad we didn't do any body surfing as well, but the tobogganing was very cool! Gosh, what a gorgeous island!
A great way to discover the island. Sand boarding was awesome and very nice picnic lunch. The tour guide was great and full of energy. Make sure you bring a water bottle. Long tour but fun!
If in and around the Queensland Brisbane area then we would definitely recommend this tour as Morton Island is truely a lovely place to visit, whether it be just to relax or to partake in one of the many activities on offer. Note, beach towels can be rented from the reception for a $20 returnable deposit so basically its free as long as you return the towel.
Moreton Island is great! Sandboarding was 100% fun! The shipwrecks are keeping a big secret and snorkeling around the wrecks was great! Over a 100 different species of fish makes this adventure special. Unfortunately the wrecks are "used" as a harbour for lots of private boats that made this place messy. Thats why four out of five points for this at all great experience and day!
Beautiful island, getting there on the ferry is part of the fun. Loads to do at the resort including the exciting sand tobogganing. Unfortunately when we were there it was too rough to go into the sea and feed the dolphins. They still arrived but we had to feed them from the jetty. Return ferry delayed due to bad weather and a very rough crossing back. This was apparently very unusual and only this stopped a highly recommended rating!
Moreton is a beautiful sand island which is unique. It has beautiful beaches and interesting vegetation. The 4WD tour of the island was interesting. The guide was like a 'bushman' who knew the island thoroughly and provided interesting facts about the island.
The Tangalooma resort location is beautiful. The boat ride to the island was enjoyable. The dolphin feeding, although a once in a lifetime experience, was somewhat of a let down because you are only allowed a few seconds in the water with the dolphins. However, we took a whale watching cruise from the resort and that was fantastic. The food choices at the resort were quite limited and the buffet was extremely crowded. The rooms were reasonable. But overall, it was definitely worth doing.
Funtastic, the island is well developed for fun and relaxation, should have stayed overnight. The boat is well maintained and the captain is quite helpful with infos for first time travellers to this island. F&B service is fine.
