The day’s adventure begins as you head north out of Brisbane on a road which takes in scenic bushland and oceanfront views. Along the way you’ll visit the historic town of Eumundi, with its broad verandahs and lively pubs recalling the late colonial era. Ahead lie holiday hotspots like Noosa and Mooloolaba, which combine idyllic locations and relaxed lifestyle with all the facilities you could want.
And, of course, beaches: miles and miles of pristine white sand. Whether you want to paddle the breakers or discover a secluded inlet, you’re sure to find your own picture postcard scene. Mooloolaba combines the best of country town and coastline – swim in the ocean, stroll the wharf eating fresh fish and chips or hit the shops. There are numerous opportunities for buying handicrafts, Aboriginal artifacts and other souvenirs. You’ll also find friendly restaurants which make the most of Queensland’s amazing fresh produce.
No trip to Mooloolaba is complete without a visit to Underwater World, one of Queensland’s great attractions. The enormous Oceanarium allows you to observe sharks, stingrays and colorful tropical fish from a transparent tunnel. And if you want to get even closer to the locals, there are shark dives and opportunities to splash around with playful seals.
