What's on in Brisbane for July and August

Top 3 things to do in Brisbane this season:

1. Surrealism Exhibition
Where: Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art (QAG/GoMA), South Bank.
When: 11 Jun 2011 – 2 Oct 2011

GoMA is the only Australian venue to exhibit ‘Surrealism: The Poetry of Dreams’, a selection of surrealist works from the Musée national d’art moderne, Centre Pompidou, Paris.

This exhibition features more than 180 works by 56 artists, including paintings, sculptures, films, photographs, drawings and collages. Representing an opportunity to see important art works that rarely leave Paris, this exhibition provides a comprehensive overview of the Surrealist movement and includes paintings and sculptures by surrealists Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte, Victor Brauner, Joan Miró, Alberto Giacometti, Max Ernst and Paul Delvaux.
