Royal Museum of Fine Arts of Belgium

Earning the title of Belgium’s most visited museums, Brussels’ Royal Museums of Fine Arts have a history dating back two centuries and a combined collection of over 20,000 paintings, sculptures and drawings. Encompassing the Museum of Ancient Art, the Museum of Modern Art and the most recent addition, the Magritte Museum, devoted to the work of Belgian surrealist René Magritte, along with the smaller scale Antoine Wiertz and Constantin Meunier museums.

The neighboring museums of Ancient and Modern Art focus on 14th-18th century and 19th-century-modernday works respectively, with a significant focus on Belgium artists like Brueghel and Jordaens. Additional highlights include important collections of works by local artists Ensor, Magritte and Delvaux and a dedicated Rubens room featuring over 20 of his most celebrated paintings.
