Doing what: Ghent and Bruges Day Trip from Brussels
Our experience was good, especially due to the attentive guide who took us on the tour. The very disappointing part was the bus driver response to us when we returned to the bus earlier than the whole group, and he became agitated and angry.

If you’re short on time and want to visit Ghent and Brugge, go with this tour. Both places are very beautiful and require more time to spend in each of them than you have on this tour.

Doing what: Ghent and Bruges Day Trip from Brussels
The group was too large, I wish they had separate groups for each language. I am bilingual and hearing all the information twice was a little bit tedious. The guide was clearly not having a good day, he didn't put any enthusiasm in what we were doing.
On the bright side, they managed time correctly. I really liked the fact that they gave us a historical background on the bus while we were reaching destination.

Doing what: Ghent and Bruges Day Trip from Brussels
The day was VERY cold (which can't be helped, I know). The tour guide didn't seem to take the comfort of the group into account as he would have us stand in biting wind waiting for the other half of the people to get caught up etc. (ie. off the canal boat tour). I believe he could have arranged some place for us to wait out of the cold and wind (we were waiting perhaps 20 minutes). He could perhaps have arranged the tour itinerary so that some of his talking was done in a somewhat sheltered place on the walking tour--these type of places were available. He was not fun, conversational, just all business. The tour was WAY too big for our liking, we had thought that it was going to be a small van with 8-12 people and it was a HUGE bus with about 75 people, hard to hear, hard to get into places etc. We would not do this tour again. Sorry :( We have done other tours arranged by Viator and been very pleased--snorkeling day in Puerto Rice was great!)

Doing what: Bruges Express City Tour from Brussels
Bruge is well worth a visit, but i don't believe its necessary to have a guided tour. The group was quite large and although the tour guide identified the sights on the way to Bruge (on the coach), there wasn't a lot to gain from the walking tour.

Doing what: Ghent and Bruges Day Trip from Brussels
Having done these types of bus/walking tours on many occasions, this one was quite a big disappointment. It was a large group (+25) and the guide wasn't personable or a natural leader type. He didn't even introduce himself to the group, rarely made eye contact and muttered. It was nearly impossible to hear any of his comments, which were quick and not very engaging. The canal boat ride in Bruges (ironically, at an additional cost) was a nice extra and the guide was interesting and interested.
With such a short time in Bruge, especially, we wasted far too much time standing around (in the cold, I might add) at each location on the short walking tour whilst people took photos or bought chocolate.
The logistics were well organised, but beyond that there wasn't much added value.

Doing what: Ghent and Bruges Day Trip from Brussels
We started off being the first ones picked up from our hotel at the appointed time. Frank, our guide and Michele our driver were great. The tour was well organinzed and showed us the highlights of each city. We were there in winter, so cold and very few tourists, which was great. Highly recommend!

The tour was wonderful and our guide was most helpful and informative. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to visit these old cities and get a good and informative overview. There was enough free time to allow my wife to explore on our own without feeling rushed or forgotten.

This is a good way to see both cities in one day, but the tour is done in a large group with over 50 people on a large bus. The price is good, but of you want a more personalized experience, book a private tour or take the train yourself to these places from Brussels.

Our guide, Stefan, was an excellent source of information into the history of this area. The day was not rushed and we enjoyed the tour immensely. The coach was very comfortable for our travels, and the hotel pick up was a huge plus for us (being new visitors to Brussels)!
