I booked my walking tour a few days before going to Budapest with my wife and all information given was correct. We contacted the local agent in Budapest, in-fact the office was very close to our hotel and the three hour plus walk, with a very lovely and knowledgeable local guide was a great experience and also a lovely end to our short break. The guide spoke excellent English and we were lucky that it was only the three of us. I highly recommend anyone to use these service.
We had Anita as our guide, a real fountain of knowledge. Just what we wanted so that we could go back to see the things we wanted to. Excellent.
Our guide was Barbara and she was wonderful - a value for money walking tour - I would have rate a 5 except 1 piece of incorrect info. - i.g. location of the The Shoe Monument -monument on the embankment outside Parliament.
Overall the trip was very enjoyable and was a great way to get acquainted with the city. However, unfortunately our guide must have been new (that's all I can figure) because she sent us to the wrong side of the river to view the "bronze shoe" memorial. Pretty big mistake to tell her clients to go to the Buda side of the river, when the memorial is on the Pest side. In addition, she didn't seem to know much about the things to do in town as she grew up elsewhere. She also had difficulty getting her English words out so things got a bit confused in general. I would still recommend the tour, but I also recommend the guides get a bit more training and actually know the city before giving a tour. They should take the other tours, boat rides, etc. as well. It is good experience so they can give recommendations.
Walk was interesting but was a little disappointed in the information from the guide. Knowledgeable but wasn't that extra over and above when someone really knows and loves their city.
Tour was okay. Guide had a accent and was hard to understand. Guide did not talk loud enough as those of us in the back could not hear even if we could of understood. I usually tip the guides but 3 stars is tip enough.
Very insightful, worth while. Me and my partner went back to sites for a more in depth walk around. A bit rushed as you do a lot in the three hours, photo opportunity there. a defo for ground oriantation and seeing some of the sights that you might have missed. Guide spoke very good English.
Very worthwhile - we wouldnt have thought there was much to Budapest if it wasn't for this tour. We are particularly greatful for being shown the famous cake shop 'Gerbauds', which we went back to twice and absolutely loved.
I had fun, walking with others who braved weather along the River Duna. Thanks to the walking tour, I could wander around the city more intensively later that day. Our guide was good with time management, too.
This tour really opened our eyes to Budapest. It is such a lovely city and I can highly recommend a visit. Allow 3 - 4 days at a minimum. Our guide, Barbi, was very helpful, knows Budapest well and conducted a very entertaining tour.
