Doing what: Green Island Day Trip by Scenic Helicopter and Cruise
This trip was the highlight of me and my partners time in Cairns. The helicopter flight was unreal. The pilot was friendly and showed us 3 small reefs telling us about them all. Green island is fun, the weather turned a bit bad so we couldn't enjoy it to its full potential but on a fine sunny day it would be a fantastic day! The buffet lunch is alright but nothing I'd rave about. It is basic and is served in an outdoor enclosed area. There is a restaurant there which looked to serve nice food which I would recommend. All in all tho we had a great time and although the weather wasn't perfect we still had a great day.

Had a nice Day at Green Island/Great Barrier Reef. Great Barrier Reef was awesome. Trip was just the right length. Only thing that wasn't so great was the food...lunch but the company did a sufficient job considering the number of people they had to feed.

Our day out at Green Island was enjoyable in spite of the rain. We were pleasantly surprised that our package included snorkeling equipment, the glass-bottom boat tour and the semi-submersible - all were great! The water was rather choppy on our way to the island - thankfully they supply ginger tablets at the bar on board for those feeling nauseated. Also, the ability to rent a locker on the island was great. Buffet lunch was also good. The Kuranda Day trip was great (and we had better weather). Train ride was lovely up to Kuranda and we enjoyed the entire package of duck boat tour of rain forest, the aboriginal show and the tour through the wild life exhibit. We were also excited to be able to get our picture taken holding a koala and the price was great. Our tour did not include lunch but we were able to enjoy the salad bar at the buffet for only $9. The gondola ride back to the bottom was spectacular - but definately not for anyone who does not like heights - once you are on there is no other way down. So if heights are a problem - take the bus ride back down the mountain.

Ease of booking was excellent. Boat to Green Island was very comfortable. Snorkelling and glass bottom boat at Green Island were also a fantastic family experience. Unfortunately, Green Island was affected by strong winds and sea swell on the open side of the island, but we still managed to swim with Sea turtles and many colourful reef fish. It was a very enjoyable day for all of the family.

An amazing time! We felt like children again with a sense of wonder with all the exotic and beautiful things we saw. Snorkeling on Green Island is a must! They outfittted us with everything, including sun protection suits (for a nominal charge). We did both the submarine and glass bottom boat, which I thought might be redundant, but each offered a different perspective and both were worthwhile. The Kuranda Rainforest was gorgeous and the Aboriginal show entertaining. We even got a chance to throw a boomerang and cuddle a Koala (but that cost extra). It poured rain while we were on the gondola, but an attendant provided us with an oversized umbrella so that we could walk in the forest. It was an unbelieveable sensory experience to walk in the rainforest during the downpour. These were 2 days we will remember forever.

This 2 day package was ideal for our short stay in Cairns.
Day 1. Barrier Reef - Excellent organisation, the staff were friendly and helpful especially Kylie Davies from the Cruise service desk. My daughter and I got our days mixed up, so, on this day we were dressed for the Rainforest, she quickly made arrangements for us to be taken back to our hotel to change into our beach wear. Thanks to Kylie we were able to fulfil our main reason for the trip - to snorkel in the reef and face our fears of the sea. Everything about the day was brilliant, could have done with at least one more hour on the Island.
Day 2. Kuranda, Rainforest – Be prepared for a very full day, also note this package does not include lunch – therefore either purchase something in the short time you have in Kuranda market or take a picnic and eat it in the tranquil Tropical Fruit Orchard of the Rain Forest Station. The train ride up to Kuranda and Skyrail down to Cairns was brilliant and the vista is breathtaking. The rainforest tour guide was very informative; my favourite plant was Hairy Mary. The Zoo keeper was also knowledgeable about the Wildlife. After the Panagirri Aboriginal dancer’s performance, make sure you have a go at the boomerang throwing.
One suggestion I would make to the tour company is for each of the tours to be extended by 1 hour so that there is a little more time on the Green Island and in Kuranda Market.

Very well organized trip. I must say that one should at least do a full day and not a half day trip , since the time simply flies once you are on Green Island. The submarine ride was the best part of the day for our family since one has to snorkel far from the beach to see the best corals.I hope to visit the area again some day.

An amazing 2-day package and we thought it was great value for money. Would have cost much more to do all we did in such a short space of time if we had booked everything separately. We were in Melbourne visiting family and although it was a long way to travel up to Cairns after just making such a long trip from England. But we just knew we couldn't be in Australia and not go and see the Great Barrier Reef! So glad we made the effort - and glad we found this trip. Hadn't used Viator before so had no idea what we were going to get for our money. As it happened - everything was just great! Great organisation and lovely helpful staff to take all of the hassle out of the arrangements. Green Island was just beautiful and the trip was really well organised. We loved the semi submersible and the glass bottom boat trips. A brilliant day - although if you are not a great sailor I would recommend you take the free travel sickness tablets they offer onboard the boat as the waters can get a bit choppy! We thought Green Island was as good as it got - but Kuranda was just amazing! The train ride, the rainforest tour and the skyrail back to Cairns was just brilliant. Kuranda Rainforest is surely one of the most beautiful places on earth. Would recommend the train up and the skyrail down rather than the other way around as it was magical to sit so quietly in the cable car at the end of such an exciting day and just listen to the sounds of the forest below. Most definitely a day to remember!

A fantastic day out to Green Island! The boat was comfortable and the buffet lunch on board was tasty. A wonderful place to snorkel and view the Great Barrier Reef. The submarine and glass bottom boat tours are a nice break from being in the water and sun. The island itself was also pretty cool, with a nice rain forest walk.

I'm so glad that we did this 2 day tour. My husband and I had a blast!! Green Island is amazing and the cruise over is beautiful, and the Kuranda trip is amazing! The train ride and skyrail are totally worth doing. I would do this trip again. Great time!

Enjoyed the day but the glass bottom boat trip was supposed to be 1hr and it was only half an hour. Would be better to go to Green Is at high tide as there is a strong smell at low tide.

We enjoyed our trip to Green island. Ride over on the ferry was very rough but exciting.. We didn't enjoy the lunch it wasn't very appetising and had to pay extra for a cup of coffee that was cold and very strong. The island is lovely perfect for swimming or snorkelling. Our time on the glass bottom boat was well worth it, but felt a whole day on the island is too long as you are not swimming or snorkelling. Overall we had a good day if not somewhat tiring. Food sold on the island was good and good value for money.

Our trip to Green Island was very enjoyable and educational. The staff were friendly and always ready to assist when requested. We did a slow walk around Green Island, reading the information plates along the way, very informative.
