Cairo Private Tours
One of the most densely populated cities in the world, Cairo is the capital city of Egypt and has a history that dates back to the 10th century. Nicknamed “The City of a Thousand Minarets”, this crossroads for commerce and culture has a bewildering array of sites and splendors to offer visitors. With its proximity to the ancient cities of Memphis, Giza and Fustat, as well as the Great Sphinx and the pyramids of Giza, Cairo is also an excellent base of operations for wider travels in the region.

Within the city itself, there are countless marvels to explore. Pilgrims and tourists interested in the ancient culture of the Coptic Christians can wend their way through the byzantine streets and alleyways to take in The Hanging Church (the oldest Christian church in Egypt), Abu Serga, and other Coptic sites. Many tours are led by expert Egyptologists, specially equipped to unlock the wonders of the city for the uninitiated.

Other tours will lead you through the Islamic district of Cairo, stopping off at the Al-Azhar Mosque, the Mosque of Al Hakim and the remains of Beshtak Palace. Many tours mark their passage by way of Cairo's three enduring ramparts: Bab Al-Nasr, Bab Al-Futuh, and Bab Al-Zuwayla, ending the northern gates to Islamic Cairo.

Only 47 miles  (75.6 km) south of the city lies the oasis town of Fayoum. Originally named Crocodilopolis, this tranquil town was the main place of worship of the crocodile god, Sobek. These days, visitors are mainly interested in the huge wooden waterwheels, and other incredible engineering feats constructed by ancient Egyptians. Though less known than the mighty pyramids, these constructions, surrounded by mango trees, palms and willows are no less a testament to the engineering prowess of an ancient civilization.

Excellent tour with knowledgeable guide. Pickup and drop-off were punctual and the tour stops covered very well. The sights were far less crowded than many other Cairo tours. Thoroughly enjoyed by all of us.

Doing what: Private Tour: Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, Memphis, Sakkara

We had a fabulous guide called Tarik who had so much knowledge which he happily shared with us. It was so nice just having my family and Tarik on the trip it made it easy to ask questions and take our time at the various venues as we wished ,we never felt that the clock was being watched and the trip finished when we wanted it to. When booking this trip ask for Tarik.
