If you want a nice day out with a comfortable bus ride, good buffett lunch and friendly guide then you wont be dissappointed, however if you want to see native animals in their natural environment then I would say this reserve is not for you.
The actual grounds and scenery at the reserve is stark and barron. The animals stand around within the very large grounds basically waiting to be fed and have tourists gawk at them.
Very dissappointing have seen better at my local zoo and especially Singapore zoo.
Enjoyed this trip and the guide was very knowledgable and amusing. However, there was some confusion about the pick-up time and we had to have the hotel call to check that someone was coming to collect us, even though everything was confirmed before we left. Hotel said that they normally received details of final pick-up time from the Agent, but not this time. We were lucky and able to go up Table Mountain, after some queuing. No discounts though, unless you are a South African Senior and then only 1 day per week. Desk staff advised poor visibility, but it was clear when we got to the top, although visibility fluctuated a bit, as did temperature. Felt the City tour was rather cursory, but presumably if the visit to Table Mountain hadn't been possible it would have expanded to fill the available time. Happy we were able to go up the mountain though, as the views were spectacular. Alan
As it was some 40 years since last visiting Cape Town this was an excellent way to see the whole of the city and to pick out just which areas we wanted to give more time to. Excellent value for money.
This trip was a complete disaster! The bus that picked us up was not airconditioned in 30deg. heat in. The inclusions it is stated entrance, which considering we are going to Table Mountain one knew to be entrante to Table Mountain. When we got to the lift, we were told we merdes to get into the queue and pay for the lift up from the bus stand to the actual Table Mountain. They claimed that the inclusion meant entrance into the castle! And even that only if they had the time, which was really not clear. We ended up taking the red hop-on hop-off bus all the way down without seeing the top of Table Mountain, as I would not pay for it again.
Very good tour! Happened to pick a beautiful day to experience every aspect of this tour. Driver was very knowledgeable and courteous.
Very wonderful tour, despite the distance to get there. Saw the Big Five and was very much worth the effort. Tour guide was very informative and knowledgeable.
The best thing the I could have done was for me and my family troupe to hop on to the bus and tour CT. Save us a ton of time, garmin frustration and was a enjoyable experience.
An African safari was on my "bucket list". I was in Cape Town on business and only had 1 day. Aquila proved to be a very good option. We saw all but one of the big 5 without having to look very hard. The food at lunch was fine but there was no where to sit and the ostrich farm was an utter waste of time but overall a good day.
