Guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable and versed in the history of the areas visited. Highly recommend this tour.
This trip has some of the mots amazing regions in South Africa. Pity the bus broke down just outside Cape Town. The travel agent did everything to get us on the road asap. But we were still left with the feeling that we were being rushes through this wonderful region. The Wine tasting in Paarl was fantastic but the one in Stellenbosch was a sheer waste of time. So make sure you stock up in Paarl.
Briliant helpful and informative. The amazing travel agent in Cape Town coordinated all our trips in Cape Town and could not have asked for a more helpful connection to a first time traveller in Cape Town.
My driver was on time to pick me up from the airport and was very passionate about his city giving me his own personal tour as we passed land marks on the way to my hotel.
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and were given plenty of time at each stop for pictures, etc. The best part was our tour guide 'Super', who had a wealth of knowledge about the region and his country. He made the trip fun and so very informative.
The trip to the vineyard was good but we would have liked to hear more about the actual vineyard, its history, see the vines, whereas we just went into the wine-tasting area and shop.
Overall a good tour.
Great over view of the winelands area. Visited 3 different vineyards tasting a variety of wines. Stopped for lunch at Solms Delta which was a co-operative vineyard with restaurant. Had a lunch similar to a micheln star restaurant for £12 including the best wine of the holiday. I'm vegetarian and my meal was just as good if not better than the meat eatters which is unusual. I wish Solms Delta was closer to home as I'd love to go back.
We were told to meet at the clock tower in Victoria and Albert waterfront. Having finished what we were doing and having nowhere else to go we went to the waterfront and were there an hour ahead of time. We watched for someone with a sign or a shirt/jacket with the Viator name on it. No one ever showed up. We called and were told that we were not where we were supposed to be and the driver had gone. After much discussion, they sent a new driver who did his very best to make our day special. He was quite knowledgeable but we were rushed through the winery because it was very late in the day by this time. We had a similar problem in Venice but thought we would give your company another try. Sorry, but I think we have given you your last chance.
Note from Viator: Thank you for leaving a review with Viator. We wanted to make sure we clarified a few points, so future travelers will have the best possible information. As Viator is a Tour Broker, we use multiple Tour Operators around the world to be able to supply the wealth and variety of tours that we have. You will mostly likely never see a guide or driver while in a destination who will be wearing a "Viator" shirt - they will likely have the name of the local Tour Operator.
We always provide the Tour Operator information to you on the voucher, and most of tours include directions for reconfirmation. (Depending on the Tour, there are rare instances where you do not need to reconfirm.) The reconfirmation process is to ensure that you get the exact time of pickup, and directions on how to find the Guide or Driver. This process also allows you to ask any questions you may have, or get good turn by turn directions if you should need them.
We're glad to hear the Tour Operator was able to be flexible and send you a new driver. For future tours, we would recommend that you always read the directions listed under the "Important" section of your voucher, to ensure that you have the best information concerning the Tour Operator.
It was an excellent tour. The three wine testings were fantastic. We enjoyed it a lot. Lunch should be included at one of the testing places. It will make it a complete tour.
Our Guide Looper was very interesting and informative. He was proactive in explaining various things and had lot of interesting stories to share with us. We almost had a private tour as we were the only group in the van. It was an amazing drive along the coastline and we stopped at many points of interest on the way. We had a fantastic lunch at the beach facing restaurant at SeaForth Beach. We did visit an Ostrich farm where kids had a great time. We ran out of time towards the end and the last stop was the winery where we did some wine tasting. We expected some lessons on wine making process but the place was almost shutting down for the day. We also had a stopover at Oom Samie Se Winkel. Overall, it was a great and unforgetable experience for all of us and we clicked many great photos!
Excellent trip, well informed guide. Visits to several wineries, one comprehensive tour of cellars and explantions of wine making process. Tasted good wines. Beautiful views. Opportunity to visit / do some shopping in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek- both very nice small towns. Could use more time in Stellenbosch.
This was a very pleasant trip with a very informative and accommodating guide. I loved the stop in Stellenbosch, where he gave us time to look at some historical sites. The wine farms were beautiful and the wine tastings were great!
