Excellent tour. We had just a small group and everything was efficient from pick up right through the day. The Elephant trek was great along with the river rafting. One of the best trips I have completed in Thailand.
Roong was a wonderful guide, explaining local customs, sights, and clearly explaining what was going to happen during the day. As an added bonus, Roong and our driver stopped at the Tiger Kingdom for about an hour to let us take pictures with the tigers.
The elephant trek was quite enjoyable and we did hike up the Ping river just like in the pictures on Viator. We spent only a few minutes in the hill tribe village. I would have preferred a few more minutes there to look at how they lived.
The river rafting tour took about an hour and was very relaxing. The kids took turns poling the raft down the river, which thrilled them. Fair warning: there's a lot of sun out on the river, so be sure to wear strong sunblock.
Highly recommended! It is probably the most adventurous trip I have ever had! Going through the jungle and across the river with an elephant! And my son has rated this the highest score for the whole Thailand trip!
It was the best day!!! The guide was so friendly and answered so many of our questions about Thailand and elephants. Riding an elephant through the Thailand jungle was an absolutely unforgettable experience. I would recommend this tour to anyone!!
This trip was amazing!! Riding the elephants was one of the most incredible experiences of my lifetime. My husband and I were on our honeymoon in Thailand. We saw so many spectacular things, but this trip was by far our favorite thing we did in Thailand. Do it!! You will not regret it.
This tour was great! The staff was amazing and had a great time! The elephants were well treated and the stops along the way was fun. Also, the lunch was great not your typical buffet but a plated meal that was the best I had a tour on my whole trip to Thailand!!!
Wonderful day from beginning to end! The elephant training was breath taking; the jungle trek was the perfect length; the rafting tour was a delight. We had lunch at a lovely resort restaurant. The servers treated us like VIP's. A midst of all that fun, our guide managed to make our trip educational. We strongly recommend this particular tour.
I know some people think that working animals is cruel. But these elephants are treated very well. I absolutely loved this tour. Riding the elephant through the jungle was a bucket list moment for me. I was very lucky that I was the only person on this tour. Pong my guide was excellent. The raft ride down the Mae Ping River was excellent as well very peaceful. The buffet lunch was great and was at the orchid, butterfly park. Hotel pickup and drop off is included in this tour. I stayed at the Imperial Mae Ping Hotel which is excellent. Great day out in this beautiful region of Thailand.
The elephant trekking was amazing, we spent about an hour and a quarter on the elephant, followed by a stunning rafting trip. Followed by a great meal and then visiting a hill tribe. Our guide Peo was fantastic, he knew so much, and was really friendly. This day was the highlight of our holiday!!
Fantastic day out the elephant safari was brilliant the mahout even caught a snake for tea this really is in the rain forest what a privilege to be in there with these magnificent animals, our guide "Oi "was great too very knowledgable and easy to talk too, the raft ride was at the end was possibly a little too long but nevertheless a fantastic day out and well worth every penny, the last bit if the elephant ride is something else try it you will love it
The tour was amazing! The elephant tour was excellent and one of the elephants even painted a picture of a tree. The elephants walk trought the jungle streams which was a real adventure! They added the tiger kingdom on at the end of the tour which was also one of my favorite parts of Thailand
Fabulous e is the only way I can describe this trip, to be snuggled by a baby elephant is indescribable !! This is definitely a trip worth going on, we would have liked to ave done the whole day trip but my husband has had major surgery, so we thought tis was second best.... It wasn't, it was an amazing experience.
Doing what: Chiang Mai Elephants at Work Tour
This was a majestic experience. One that will never be forgotten. Tour guide went the extra mile to accommodate our needs and spoke great English. Door to door pick up made it stress free. The jungle was spectacular in nature, the elephants graceful and the rafting peaceful. I went home feeling thoroughly content - and pleasantly exhausted. A must do tour!

Chiang Mai is a beautiful place. This tour was small, only 2 people, so it was very easy to enjoy the time provided with the elephants.
This was a long day, but I enjoyed this tour. I was on the tour with 2 other people that I met on the previous day's tour. The three of us got along well on the previous day's tour. I was already scheduled to take this tour, the other two people, who were traveling together, were interested in doing this tour, so we requested to do this tour as a private group. You trek on land for about an hour and then if you get to ride in the Ping River, that's another 30-45 minutes of riding. If the river waters aren't high enough, you will not be able to ride through the Ping River. Fortunately we were able to ride through the river. This tour consists of a short elephant show (where the elephants do tricks, obey commands, etc.). One elephant even paints a picture. A pretty decent looking pic at that. At this camp, they seem to treat the animals kindly. Prior to booking this tour, I had read that some camps were not so humane. I did not notice any abuse while I was at this camp. After the elephant ride, there was lunch at a nice secluded restaurant not terribly far from where the elephant camp was. River Rafting is also part of this tour, which you are on the river for at least 45 minutes. Visiting the Hilltribe people is also a part of the tour. This visit consists of looking at handmade items by the people and you possibly buying something. You don't have to buy anything though. We had some extra time, so we did a side trip to the Tiger Kingdom. Nong was the tour guide. Very good guide, accommodating, and he spoke English well.
Everything was great - even though we didn't get to go on the river raft as the water was too high - the guide made every effort to keep us happy by offering a stop at the Tiger Kingdom where (for a price) you can sit/play/touch/take photos with the tigers. I paid for this experience and it was great. He also stopped at the long neck tribe village since we asked and it was next door to the Tiger Kingdom. We had to pay a fee directly to the village but it was great that the guide/driver were so accommodating. FYI, you don't ride the elephants in the river like the photo shows unless it is a time of year where the river level is low. So we rode on a trail through the woods. In addition to riding the elephants, they have you sit in a small stadium and show you how they work with the elephants. They show you how elephants can carry logs. One elephant even painted a picture!! Also a photo is taken of you by the elephant staff - on the elephant and put into a frame and at the end, you have an option of buying it, which I did. There also was a GREAT lunch. It was a great day and the tour guide, Van, was awesome sharing all of his knowledge along the ride.
This was highlight of our trip. Anand was an excellent guide - spoke well and understood our needs. Vegetarian food was good and satisfying. Excellent value for money. Note: it is very difficult to take pictures of others in party while riding the elephants. The rafting part was more a 'time filler'. I think hats or umbrellas are most appropriate for the rafting part. On return, stopped at tiger camp for photos with tame tigers! Paid about 500 bahts per person for few minutes in a cage with a tiger for a photo opportunity. Air conditioned small bus was suitable and cold water bottles were provided at several stops .
we were picked up on time in a van with 5 other people. we loved the small group experience. the elephants were marvelous and our hour long treck on top of one in the jungle was amazing. we had the added bonus of going to the butterfly farm, and one of the other couples wanted to go to tiger kingdom, so our tour guide took us, and while we didn't get down in the cages with the tigers, my husband and I did take many pictures of others doing that. I also had the chance to have a fish pedicure., which was fun, but I don't ever need to repeat. the tour, however was fabulous, and the company and guide were excellent. we used them again the next day to go to several local places and had a wonderful time.

Thought it was great. Just like you advertized. Riding the elephants was a once in a lifetime experience! This and the sleigh ride I took in Salzburg through Viator has hooked me on your firm for life
Amazing show by the elephants although I would have liked to get more comments about the training method.
Doing what: Chiang Mai Elephants at Work Tour
The best experience in our Thailand's trip.
It was not only the unique ride on an elephants and ruffling but also professionalism, punctuality and hospitality of our guide Bua.
On the way back we were offered to stop in the tiger farm where you can get into the cage with tigers, pet them and make pictures to show your friends.
This was fabulous. If you are wondering which trip to take, go on this one. Roong was terrific and very informative. The elephants are treated with respect and the honor they deserve. It is not a "circus-like" camp and I went away feeling like I saw the real deal. Lunch was fantastic. The float down the river was peaceful and unassuming. I am very happy I researched this trip and the result was exactly as I had anticipated. My only minor complaint is that I felt the Lisu Hill Tribe village visit was a bit staged. But, you should go into this trip knowing what you are doing......you are a tourist and this village earns its income from your visit. Do not miss out on this trip! Thank you Viator for your excellent follow-up, especially making sure you picked us up at our hotel!

Elephant shows were very entertaining. Elephant "jungle trek" and Ping River rafting tour were enjoyable.
We really enjoyed this day. Saw the elephants in action and went for the ride for 90 mins through water and jungle. The food was fantastic. Staff friendly and helpful. The tour people stopped off at Tiger kingdom for us on the way back, which was nice of them to rearrange the buses for us. It was the best day and would recommend.
This was one of the high-spots of our trip to Thailand. It was very well organized; the guide was great; the transport comfortable; and the lunch extremely good. The elephant display was really interesting and had just the right amount of show-biz about it. The trek on the elephant to the village was just long enough and gave us what a taste of what it would be like to go a long distance on elephant back.
The rafting tour was fun too, and relaxing.
We had an unscheduled stop at Tiger Kingdom because several people had asked the guide about it and it was on the way. That was excellent too, and the animals are in splendid condition.
