Doing what: Chicago CityPass

The city pass gave us easy access and enough flexibility to spread out all the different places over five days. Had a great time! Wish we would've gone to the art museum instead of the planetarium, but you have the option!

Doing what: Chicago Grand Half-Day Tour

As this was my first visit to Chicago, I took the four hour tour and at the end of it I felt I had a general idea of what Chicago was like. I was lucky with the weather, Chicago's blue sky made everywhere inviting and our guide's rather pseudo-ironic style managed to enliven the neighbourhoods and the buildings we passed. The twenty minute break at the conservatory filled with spring made a perfect teaser for what would replace the still-bare nature outside. My one quibble is that the windows of the bus should always be perfectly clean (no water marks) so the pictures taken from the bus (there are few stops) are free of streaks, etc.

Doing what: Chicago CityPass

Used the card over five days and saw all the museums the favourite being the Science and Nature museum although we brought add ons to see the animal inside out, U boat and mine exhibits. Good card if staying for a weeks vacation as best to do a museum a day as it becomes tiring and you can get museumed out. Plenty of other things to see in Chicago as well, enjoy.

Doing what: Chicago CityPass

Shedd Aquarium, the John Hancock and Willis tower were fantastic! Didn't have time to use the others.

Doing what: Go Chicago Card

The go card was great. Got you into so many attractions, but the hop on hop off tour doesn't run in winter. (Read the fine print).

Doing what: Chicago CityPass

Worthy if you are going to see most of museums they offer. One thing you avoid some lines but not all of them.

Doing what: Go Chicago Card

This card can be good value, especially in the summer time when the cruises are open (worth noting they close during the winter). One tip would be to get the 3 day card (or the lowest one available if it's not the 3 day one).

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better Review by Daryl N, Australia, January 2013
Doing what: Chicago Grand Half-Day Tour

I actually found this tour to be a little boring. The driver was also the guide, so it was quite robotic and not very personal. I prefer couch tours which have a separate guide as they tend to be more interesting. Not recommended.

Doing what: Chicago Grand Half-Day Tour

Chicago by bus is a little tough as its hard to get the full effect in a vehicle. The tour pace is dictated by the traffic and specific to this tour anyway, very hard to understand and keep up with what the guide was saying. It was nice to relax and drive around. Probably wouldn't have seen otherwis
