Must see - Farnsworth House in greater Chicago
Comment from vederemondo
For the architecture buff who is a fan of Mies van der Rohe, it is worth every penny and effort to rent a car and drive out to Plano. The drive is approximately 1 hour depending on time of day and traffic conditions. The reward at the end of the drive is immeasurable. The Farnsworth House is the first Glass House of its kind in the US. Set in a picturesque locale beside the Fox River, the Farnsworth House floats above its landscape on steel legs. A guided tour brings visitors through the interior of the house. It is truly amazing to walk among the objects and through the spaces designed by Mies.
