Great tour guide -- loved the Antarctic experience.
The guides were very friendly, pleasant, good-humoured and knowledgeable. We enjoyed all of the tours.
This was a good trip , we saw some fantastic sights. This was a small group tour, with our selves and two other couples. Stopping at Lake Tekapo was beautiful, we did see half of Mount Cook from a distance, unfortunately the clouds came in when we were at Mount Cook and did not get to see the mountain, but that is Mother Nature for you. This was a good day but a long day.
Doing what: Explore Mount Cook from Christchurch
We were delayed getting ashore due to poor conditions for tenders; not to worry, the tour waited and we didn't miss anything. Driver very enthusiastic and informative. The drive into Christchurch was very picturesque. Our driver was very keen to show us lots relating to the 2011 earthquake and we saw many interesting sights. Personally would have liked more time at the Botanic Gardens - this was literally little more than a toilet stop!
Great if you like - I mean, really like - dolphins. The trip went well, staff were proficient and competent in explaining the natural history of these dolphins. They emphasized that, as wild creatures in their natural environment, guarantees of behaviour could not be made. In the event we had only limited contact with these mammals and, although this met the terms of our booking, they voluntarily provided a partial refund. If you like dolphins this firm presents itself as knowledgeable and of high integrity. I strongly commend and recommend them.
Doing what: Swimming with Dolphins in Akaroa
We would have liked more time at the Antarctic Center and the museum. We understand the ships schedule precluded longer stays at these places.
we enjoyed our excursion, easy pickup, the driver and support staff very good. The drive to and from Christchurch has lots of twists and turns but also lovely views. We had been to Christchurch in 2010 and it was possible the highlight of our trip. We wish now that we should not have gone back to view the terrible distruction caused by the earthquake.
The drive around the Banks Peninsula was beautiful. Would be nice to have more time at the gardens. Enjoyed the jet boat. Jet boat driver was great at maneuvers.
I found this tour very interesting. The staff were very friendly. We saw several dolphins close to the boat but unfortunately none of them stayed close by so we couldn't actually swim with the dolphins. We got refunded $50 because of that which was great. On the way back we also got some hot chocolate. I'd go again if I was ever in the area again.

The weather was average but in the end the mist and cloud gave the trip more character. In fact, if the weather was any poorer, they said they'd cancel the trip and refund the costs.
The pilot was friendly and gave us some interesting commentary throughout the trip.
The chopper itself was modern and had heaps of glass so we got a great view of the city.
It really gives you a good perspective of the devastation of the city after the most recent earthquake.
Doing what: Christchurch Helicopter Tour
We loved the sheep farm tour. The owner was very informative and interesting to watch the dog work the sheep heard. Lunch was provided at the farm and great conversation with the owner. Not enough time at Christchurch since we had to leave the group to go to the farm. Would have liked more time there.
driver/guide was very good but not enough time (25 minutes) to explore museum, wife barely had time to pee there! tour trys to cover too much in the short amount of time available.
We saw from earlier reviews that there is little time in Christchurch for looking at the Museum or getting out and taking pictures which is the reason it did not get a better rating. We don't get picked up until two hour after our ship docks so they could start an hour earlier and provide more time at Christchurch but this tour chooses not to. The jet boat tour was a lot of fun and was memorable. The place we stopped to eat was adequate. This tour could be so much better with more time in Christchurch and at the Museum.
Antartic trip was great, but we only had 1 hour at the center. We were driven around Christchurch to see some sights but most of this was the devistation from the earthquake,
We had 2 children with our party of 8 and they were really looking forward to see the Antartic centre, but with on 1 hour they were really disappointed that we had such a short time there. i must say though that the drivers were very informative, I think it would be much better if we were taken to the Antartic centre first
and given 2 hours there, then the drivers could show us the wreckage of Christchurch on the way back to the ship, We changed buses during the trip and they both showed us the earthquake damage, 1 would have been plenty.
We weren't aware that there was a 3 hour drive to and from Akaroa Port. Our bus broke down and we didn't have time to experience the Antartic Experience. We feel too much was crammed into the Tour.
